Why can't we STOP leveling? what's the point?

I still enjoy doing that. I have no problem with it.

Pretty sure you already have that option, its called “not playing the game”

The level squish made me quit because the point of leveling was completely destroyed.

Wow is an mmo, and you lvl up in mmos lol

Why would you want to stop the most fun part of the game

you mean every 8 expansions?
the first and only level squish happened for SL.

I feel like I already explained this well enough. Feel free to read through the rest of the thread if you’re lost.

Tbf there are RPGs that once you are max level you don’t simply gain more levels the next campaign or session. You are just max.

I think it’s overall meaningless either way; keep it in for the folks who really care but the reality is, it’s absolutely pointless in WoWs format especially with numerous number squishes and power scaling implemented.

But I do think the game would do well with more horizontal progression.

If you don’t like leveling an MMORPG game is not for you.

I have a better suggestion:

How about Blizzard make leveling better lol

People have choices already to level at a decent pace or to level fast. Though I would like to see an option for people to turn off the XP buffs if they want to level slower on alts.

It wouldn’t. Other MMORPGs tried this and failed miserably. And WoW is built upon leveling, learning basics and gaining talents and abilities.

Halting that for some bad sideways prog system makes it boring and dumb. No one cares about the dumb stuff those systems give out. They’re not engaging.

What’s a decent pace here?

Because even without doing dungeons, I can hit level 80 in no time in this game. It’s the biggest joke of a leveling system. There’s even a point in leveling (40-50, to be exact) where you can reach 50 in less than an hour because the game decreases EXP requirements while increasing EXP acquisition. In its totality, I can hit level 80 in less than 12 hours by even the most inefficient form of leveling.

Seriously, just go play an action game.

Why are you even here on an RPG? Go play something with all voice acting so you don’t have to read, and nothing you need to put effort into to earn.

That’s the only way a… Person, for lack of a better term that won’t get me banned… Like you will be happy.

I started in DF at level 10 on my new Earthen Pally. I’m in Azure Span at level 44. I’ve just been chilling with quests and nothing else.

And you cut off the rest of what I said. Let’s address it all, shall we?

Keep in mind newbies don’t have that buffs.

Well no, because that’s not what I’m addressing. It’s all fine to say that you think they should allow for people to level at a slower pace if inclined, but I’m more or less refuting the idea that people have any sort of choice in this game when it comes at the pace in which they level.

Because sure, there are more efficient ways of leveling, but even the most inefficient form of leveling is still too fast.

They should just turn wow into a battle royale game like fortnite. Who’s ready for wowbucks?

I honestly feel the same way. The leveling is pointless and only makes all of the 20+ years of old content pointless. There’s the “World” of Warcraft, but we only stay on 1 island each expansion. The quests have significantly lost story telling and are just menial chores and tasks. Literally go talk to this person then this person.

I get that it’s an MMORPG, but you can have that without adding more levels. They can add more meaningful quests that tie into the existing “World”. These “expansions” are more like DLCs so it would be fitting to just add content.

So you’re being disingenuous to further a poor narrative because you refuse to acknowledge part of the leveling speed.

Then there is no discussion to be had with you.

Leveling is the foundation this sort of game is built on.

What are you talking about? The leveling speed is too fast. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
