Why can't we share gear with our alts

I am not talking about warbound gear…

for example in Diablo games what ever you’re wearing you can take it off and throw it in the bank and your other characters can use it. Just wondering why is that not a thing in WoW…

I know WoW is…“different” but it would be super convenient honestly. Or is it a completely stupid idea lol?

Bad idea. You would only have to earn gear once and you could use it on any alt. Been playing mmorpg’s since the 90’s and never seen the feature like you describe.

Because that’s lame and cringe

I assume they wouldn’t want people bypassing lockout restrictions by running 10-20 alts of the same armour type through content to funnel all the gear to a character and be bis in a week?

Make gear perma decay.

Remove soul binding.

That sounds like a nightmare for anyone pushing hall of fame/CE/top keys lol

That is the case in SWTOR, you can just mail gear to alts. All gear is warbound like and all alts can contribute to collecting currencies to buy high end gear.
Depending to number of alts, you can have max gear in about a month.

It would ruffle lots of feathers for sure, but I think it makes things more meaningful too

Ive played that game from years and once gear has never let me use it on an alt. Might be a recent change since that game has sadly been dead for years now :frowning: If SWTOR does it its certainly not the norm for mmos

Because you need to play a character to progress it.

If I wanted to gear my devoker alt thats in like 625 gear, I would have no incentive to actually play it when I could just smash content on my 680 main and send all the loot I get to the alt.

I guess the race change and faction change services would become useless too which is why it would probably never happen because Bli$$ would lose money…

As someone who makes a ton of alts. I don’t think sharing gear is a good idea. We have warbound and we have our heirlooms. They suffice.

All highend gear is legacy wide for at least 3-4years.
Before that, you could use empty legacy gear shells to transfer highend mods to alts.
And they got rid of light, medium and heavy armor, all armor is adaptive, so any class can use it.

Too much covenience isnt good, imo.
Even warband bank and reputations are too much.

All of my force users use the exact same gear, I swap them between whichever character I’m using at the time. Same with my non-force users. All gear is legacy bound now.

I couldn’t see Blizzard ever doing something like that, based on their current trajectory.

You think folks are crying about folks rolling need now? Yea…

Uaaa, you take that back!

Cant, sorry.
Warband killed my will to play alts in content like questing or rep farm, only professions. Hope they dont get some crazy idea to put all professions on one character…

The thing in Diablo 2 is the best gear is “super rare”. You’d be wearing greens for a long time until you get a blue and then at Mythic raid you would get your nice 2 handed strength weapon on a mage. So you think, you’ll just give that weapon to your alt!

It is a nice system, but works better with a shorter seasonal reset and fresh starts. We can’t have the current drop rates and shared items.

Why can’t I be all the classes on my one character
