Really whos big brain idea is it to not be able to reset profession knowledge
Being able to reset knowledge would kind of defeat the purpose of the system. Once you have enough points to max out one branch in a spec, you’d be able to shuffle them around at will depending on what you’re doing to ensure that you’re essentially always maxed in that aspect. The cost of switching would have to be so prohibitive to limit this cheesing that players would hate it and not make use of it anyway.
Just like real life you can’t unlearn Trigonometry to instantly learn Carpentry
…And reclick all those abilities all over again? No, thank you. I clicked them once that’s plenty.
Yea, they would have to make it expensive enough to deter the goblins out there with more gold than they know what to do with in the first, and that would make it esssentially inaccessible to casual crafter anyway. So, may as well eliminate it completely.
If you want to respec, roll an alt.
This is a horrible analogy because you can literally unlearn Tailoring to instantly learn Blacksmithing and then unlearn Blacksmithing to instantly relearn Tailoring again.
None of it makes any sense, because this isn’t real life, it’s a game, so it should work like a game and be fun.
I’m willing to go even further than the OP, simply pointing out that we can’t reset the knowledge, we should have catchup tokens that immediately cap your knowledge points.
Yeah, I said it.
It’s not like you won’t learn all the knowledge points in this expansion…
I’ve been 800/800 Blacksmithing for about 8 months now, along with 514 (at last count) overflow knowledge points…
So kind of how it is now? I know it’s being used more than it was. But most people don’t use it at all
Its the mythic raiding of professions.
Yea but when you drop blacksmithing you don’t instantly know everything about tailoring
So, ggnore
If you reset your knowledge points, you wouldn’t instantly get them added somewhere else until you clicked to add them. Same as if you clicked a Tailoring NPC to learn Tailoring after you unlearned Blacksmithing.
Again, it’s a game. Whoooooo cares.
?
Well that’s good, because I know both.
You have to level up tailoring, you wouldn’t have 100/100 right away
That’s 2/0
Oh, well in that case I guess you can move around points
Oh, I wasn’t aware we were tallying score. I hope you win the gold medal!
Tell you what, I’ll go smelt one for you. Lemme unlearn Tailoring and go learn Blacksmithing real quick.
You got any ore I can borrow? See, I gotta get to 100/100 to do it, so I’ll just spend 2 minutes clicking buttons. Something something magic. Something something immersion.
The same way we earn those knowledge points, clicking buttons
So I see we can agree that they are both equally pointless in how they’re accrued. So why not let us reset them?
Are you saying most players don’t use professions at all this expansion?
I think the cost should increase incrementally cause lile for me when the professions were new i was just straight clicking on stuff kinda learning the talents “inefficiently”
Or maybe just have it be a one single season reset with each new season cause maybe you dont do certain things anymore with said profession
Obviously this creates a little cheese from the goblins but idk
First post in this thread that you ignored to go after a joke analogy answered this.
Fixed profession knowledge wasn’t a real problem this expansion.
Weekly knowledge point accumulation, or lack thereof, was. If you took a break for any reason, you were permanently behind the curve.
Who can resist these charms
