Why can't we place public recrafting orders?

Who builds a system to finally make crafting convenient, and then makes us go back to vanilla methods to get gear recrafted? Like why have this system at all if I’m still going to have to spam trade to get gear crafted? When did Blizz become such a half-assed company?

I can only assume as I don’t know Blizzard’s mind, but I would guess it’s for 2 reasons: 1) it forces people to be more social and encourages interactions between players on a server, and 2) prevents people from posting r5 requests when they really shouldn’t (i.e. using r1 mats) - especially when crafters are only granted a maximum of 4 public orders (and once you use it up you only get 1 per day). If you send a personal order, a crafter can explain in advance what they’re willing to craft.

I don’t think it has anything to do with Blizzard being “half-assed” and was an intentional choice.

Probably because you can’t set quality requirements. So if someone wants a recraft just for a different missive or embellishment, their item could potentially come back to them at a lower ilevel than it started at. Which would make a lot of people angry.

Saying a bad idea is in place because of other bad ideas isn’t really as convincing as you might think.

It’s almost certainly this one for the reasoning. Though I think it would be useful, especially for pvp folks
