Has this ever been addressed? It feels like we all just accept the fact that, yeah, you can’t mount indoors as you do your walk of shame after a wipe in raid. Has Blizzard ever given a reason why, though?
There are plenty of areas in a raid where there is plenty of room to mount up. It’s technically “inside”, though, so we can’t. I don’t understand why, though. What logical or gameplay reason is there? It seems entirely arbitrary.

Would be great if we could mount up in all raids and dungeons instead of just some of them. I guess blizz wanted there to still be a use for repair bots and other reparing gadgets.

I never liked how we couldn’t attempt to mount in combat. We can delicately pick flowers but somehow we never entertained the idea of learning how to tactically extricate ourselves using a mount when in combat.

Because it would be rude.
We may be there to slaughter them and pillage their fresh corpses, but we needn’t behave as uncouth savages.

There should be a toy where we can summon a grummle to sell stuff while in a raid.
reminder that they removed the bear tartare buff which i found helpful when running older instances for the mogs
what i find really annoying is that i have to pause after getting outdoors before attempting to mount because the the game engine still thinks i was indoors

Mounts track dirt and mess up the carpet. It was just cleaned too!

There is a reason. Do you often see people riding horses or other beasts inside their homes or in an underground cavern? Theres the reason. Also this isn’t a WoW only thing, it’s a nearly every mmo I’ve ever played thing. There are just some places you dont use a mount. I’m guessing that’s the reason. The no mounting while in combat is dumb though. Guessing they figure that makes it too easy to get away.

The grummle npcs on that yak mount bother me something fierce. I don’t like their voices. I wish it was just silent, automatons that sold and repaired.
But I’m probably just being unfair to those creepy little shaggy things.
Yeah but I’d no longer have a kitchen after.

I say certain places that are confined and you need to interact with things should be mount free. Like the auction house or banks and portal rooms. Everywhere else imho should be enabled for mounts.

Dunno if it’s to prevent interactions of classes that have an “outdoor” ability? Like Druids using travel form in raid encounters.
Would be nice for them to have access though, places like Nya’lotha are notable areas where you really should have the ability to mount up.
Uh… why does it need addressed?
Big dragon. In a hallway.

That rug really tied the tomb together, did it not?

Do you see people throwing around fireballs, summoning demons and riding dragons often? This is a fantasy game, real world norms and logic have no place here.
Guild Wars 2 when they finally added mounts put no restrictions on their use at all. You can mount literally anywhere. It’s glorious. Maybe it’s time to let go of pointless rules that are only there just cause that’s the way it was done 15 years ago when the game was first made.
Then go play Guild Wars if you like that game.
World of Warcraft should stay World of Warcraft, not World of ImplementEveryQOLFromOtherGames

I’m pretty sure the good folks over at Moon Guard have figured out how to do that for years now.
