They are incredibly based people. On Turtle WOW:
- No GDKPs allowed
- No selling dungeon loot drops
- No boosting
- No world buffs in raids
- Consumes last through death. Mongoose last 1 hr and through death
- No microtransactions
- No multi-boxing allowed
- They ban cheaters
- They ban botters
- BG queue from anywhere
- Added jewelcrafting to vanilla (my idea)
- UE5 engine for game
- No PVP decay in ranking
- Tasteful new character modifications that look and feel like vanilla
Why can’t you just hire these devs from Turtle WOW and put them in charge?
They seem to understand Vanilla and the player base.

I have been playing lock on twow for a while. Almost fully Kara geared. I play the haste affli spec because it’s fun. Demo crit build is also cool. However from what I’ve seen on sod the community would explode over the new content. Most of the new content is wildly buggy/overtuned or under tuned. Pvp is a mess and for whatever reason sod players never stopped crying over that. Gear drops were very few even my own guild had complained about it when we were only getting 2 items per boss. Now it’s been upped to 3/4 but it took a while for that to happen. Basically twow is very good if u love leveling in the world and having fun, but end game is a mess and the wow community will hate on it just like we saw during sod. Nothing will please those people it’s very cringe.
I’d look more at what Project Epoch is doing.
TWoW has mostly been popular due to lack of competition, but it’s a mess on a design level.
They don’t have a giant company behind them so duh it’s going to have bugs. It’s a bunch of people in their basements doing this.
If you can’t see talent and people who love Vanilla looking at Turtle WOW you are a sad person.
I haven’t played it but the website is amazing and you can tell they are cool people who want a better Classic experience.
They just don’t have the funding.
Like I mentioned, check out Project Epoch. They have a much better grasp of game design which is as I said TWoW is a mess on a design level, that does not mean bugs/funding/etc…

People who have never done anything interesting in their entire life always are the first people to dump on great works of others.
TurtleWOW is great based on their funding level and the fact it’s run by amateurs in their basements.

Twow is very solid. However they’re currently moving towards Hardmode raids. Something a lot of people complained about in sod. Also on release of Kara tower you needed world buffs for bosses. They did get nerfed significantly though throughout the months. I also feel surv(melee) on twow is very lame compared to sod. Twow has a decent team however I don’t think many of the c+ community would agree on the 0 pvp changes and “Hardmode” content

Twow is doing Hardmodes. There next plan is to release ony/MC hardmodes. I personally like hardmodes
