Magitek has been a staple for Final Fantasy for a long time though. I mean, FF7, their most popular one, was all about technology draining the world of magic and killing the planet.
Matter of fact, the first FF movie was also based on that. Technology draining the souls of the planet and killing Gia.
Yet ever video on youtube says otherwise. Thier biggest supporters and content creators also agreeing how bad the xpac is.

We can’t fly because the zone is smol and like people just want to be on the ground because it makes the game super engaging. You don’t skip cinematics or quest text when you are stuck on a gimmick mount or something.

First half seems to be the real problem. Lazer and tech has been part of FF14 since the beginning though. I mean, I had a legit flying car before dawntrail. The regalia car, so smexy of a car.

FF14 went from a Fantasy setting, to now we’re literally on a Starwars Future City invading the Matrix
