Why can't we fly in undermine?

But mages in WoW are the scientists so its hard to know how that divide would happen.

I think it’s a nice change of pace. At least, of how the zone is navigated. It fits. Still high, exhilarating speeds and player-action and agency-oriented. I’m sure we’ll eventually be able to fly there, but it was definitely designed with this new DRIVE system in mind. I think it works, I love it so far  It feels like players are finally inhabiting the same place again, and engage with the content even on their way to it.

I love TBC but the amount of entitlement about flying is mind-boggling.

Seriously? The quest that TAKES you to Dornegal unlocks Swift Flight for the region… Did you mount up & fly through the rings like the quest told you to do or did you just fly/ride there?

As for all the b****ing about not being able to fly in Undermine, get over it already. People complained and cried when Cata came out because Goblins got a car to drive all around Kezan in and Worgen got nothing but a couple short carriage rides. Goblins get cool Trikes for their racial mount and we won’t talk about the original Worgen “mount”. Giving us a car for use in Undermine, the Goblin Capitol city FITS WITH THE LORE AND THE PREVIOUS EXPANSION. You’re also not required to use their vehicle, you can use your mount & run on the ground.

So your whole issue is, “I can’t fly”. shakes head Why do you play, then? Is it BECAUSE there are flying mounts and places you can fly? Flying mounts are not common across MMOs, although they may become more so as time goes on. EQII has flight, once you reach level 85 and complete a long questline. OR if you play during the Heroes Festival (I think it’s Heroes Fest anyway) and do the dailies 5 times, you can earn a mount that flies, but you will need to be… level 30? in order to fly. But hey, at least in EQII Tradeskill levels count too, so y’know, you could get the Heroes Fest mount & grind up your profession so you can fly everywhere. Everywhere that’s your level or lower that is. You can get a flying vehicle in FFXIV (and probably FFXV & FFXVI as well) but I have no idea how or in what expansion it might be and just getting through ARR is REEEEEEEEALLY long. Perhaps WoW just isn’t your cup of tea? There are a great many players who are excited about Undermine and the lack of flight won’t change that. I didn’t expect to fly there, in fact my first thought when it was announced was, “Will I get my old car back???” because speeding around Kezan was crazy fun & even when you didn’t get that close to them, goblins near the road went flying and cough made comments about you, your mother, your driving, your social status & your intelligence (or lack thereof).

Name them. We’ll wait.

Actually, it was because of the whole “If it doesn’t work, we’ll pull the ripcord” after which Ion & the team doubled down on NOT pulling that cord until the forums were just filled with “Pull the Ripcord!” posts. Pathfinder was part of it, but so also were borrowed power and so many things tied to individual character rep grinds.

Will ya now? Fellowship does not have flying.

Because they think it’s the best thing since sliced bread. With the improvements they made though, it is considerably easier for me to use than it was when they introduced it. I still have a miserable time steering & landing though, which made me feel awful last night when I did the dungeon that requires it for the first time. Thankfully the 4 random people I was with rezzed me & let me continue rather than kicking me & being nasty to me.

It APPEARS to be, but is it really? Do you know WHY the original continents had to be redesigned for Cata? Not for story, although of course some alteration was required for that. No, it was because even though it LOOKED like trees, mountains, buildings, etc. were “below the ceiling”, they actually were not. The “line drawings” of them, if you will, continued up into the sky, literally creating invisible walls. A person I know said it was not uncommon to do graphics that way (this friend was a graphic designer) since the trace lines are invisible & no one needs to interact with them. And yes, there were “breaks” in the lines, otherwise we could not have had flight paths. It’s possible that they left the trace lines above the buildings in Undermine as well, because it’s a Goblin city and Goblins use fast cars.

Head is shaking so hard I’m either going to get whiplash again or it will just fall off my neck!

Do you have a Goblin alt? If so, put your favorite Trike on your toolbar for Undermine! If not, omg go make you one!!! Kezan is hella fun!

It’s a Goblin zone, you’ve seen what they did in Orgrimmar. You probably do not want to put your face anywhere near the ground LOL!

I been saying that for a quite a while. It sad that they’re relying on flying in order to play this game. Its same players who spam LFG and not really the leaving city. Also too they hate doing chores to get pathfinder unlocked so they stomped their feet throw a fit until they get what they want and not going to happen.

i also believe everything im told and dont question anything…

Hope that helps champ!

it doesnt you said the devs said this so it must be true…nothing here but your opinion. people could easily fly in undermine and you know that but wanna push your opinion of ground mount good.

I’m kind of glad we dont have flying in Undetmine’s. But, I knew people would complain, they’ve become so conditioned into using flying. Anything that doesn’t have it is just unbearable.

you have had the option to run around on ground mounts all expac so far whats stopped you?

I do both, sometimes I’ll just use ground mounts, other times I’ll just use flying. But, I like the ground mounts more over flying. And having a zone without flying is just refreshing and doesn’t seem so fast paced.

ahh yes i definitely don’t see the drive mounts boosting around at all either…why is choice good for you everywhere else but we don’t get a choice in undermine?

Fellowship doesn’t need flying, there is no shared world, no reason to travel, nowhere to actually travel to.

Fellowship is just one main city and the dungeon instances.

And thank god we can’t fly in dungeons because nokhud offensive and dawn breaker have proven that’s not enjoyable.

I’m LOVING fellowship, I get to actually just play the game I love (mythic plus) without all of the hassle that gets tied to the MMO portion of wow.

Fellowship is just absolutely amazing, having a blast in its play test (got myself an exclusive mount for timing a level 5 dungeon) and just loving the gameplay - built in boss timers, fun and engaging boss mechanics. It’s just lovely, such a refreshing change of pace

Why are you so upset and passive aggressive? Just because you don’t have flying? WAAH!!

why do you not have an actual argument to counter with is it because you know im right? keep stooping to insults it makes me know your a

What are you right on? You’re just giving an opinion. And where did I make an insult?

I wonder if a lot of this stems from people not playing many games outside of wow. People are not annoyed about the concept of a driving system. They are annoyed at how poorly its done. You have to go back multiple decades to find controls as bad for diving as in wow.

cant even read what you typed?

How’s that an insult?!? LOL, I feel bad for you if that’s triggering…

yes calling someone passive agressive when you cant even hear the tone of my voice since this is a text conversation is an insult…
