Why can't we delete Keys?

I’m all done with dungeons for the week and would like to delete the key and free up an inventory slot for the last day in the week. Any idea why we are prohibited from deleting them?

The key vendor even has an option if you have “misplaced” your key to request a new one, so, it seems like it should be no big deal to delete and replace. Just replace with the same key that you deleted if you change your mind.

Yeah if it didn’t take up a bag slot or you could delete it that’d be nice.

But also - your poor bags, needing that one slot D:

WTH are you doing with your bags to be in dire need of that 1 slot :joy:

I dont need the slot that badly, I just don’t like carrying things I don’t need. Also, I would have 7 empty rows if not for that key, so instead I have 6 empty rows and 1 row of 3. That just tics on my OCD.

To keep it from being exploited.

Guess Blizzard needs to bring back the key holder:

I guess I had to think about it for a minute to understand how it could be exploited. If the key vendor just gave you back the same key that you deleted. Then I remembered that if you don’t have a key on you when you run a dungeon it will give you one. The game would have to ensure that in that circumstance it also gives you the same key you had. They’d just need to save that value someplace called “LastDungeonKey”

we really need to open up the regent bank tab with more slots and options to organize items. I am lacking a lot of bag space on my hunter

Could throw it in the bank and pretend it’s gone!

People back in BFA would Run Keys to sell. They would get a high key, Delete it and repeat with many keys. Whenever they needed a specific Key from a buyer they would grab the key from their mailbox after they did item restore. the keys would be there for 364 days ready to pick when they needed it. Blizzard doesnt like exploits so they removed the option to delete your key so this cant happen.

This is so that if you don’t run a week and have no vault to get a key from she will just give you one.

So they need to put in the time to make this work because you have anxiety about one slot in a row of your bags being taken up?

Oof.

Feel you on this.
I don’t run M+ much. When I do, it’s to help someone out and I don’t really need a +2 key clogging up my bag.

Or, why was the key designed this way in the first place?
You the “blizzard time police”?

Because it was a quick and easy fix to avoid people exploiting the system, which has already been explained.

Of all of the useless stuff taking up inventory slots, a key that takes up one being this much of an issue doesn’t require development time.

Yes.

They should just have a special slot for it on the Mythic+ page, IMO.

I’m pretty sure there are more important things to fix/implement/design than freeing up a single bag slot. The key will be gone at the end of the (wow) week. Just shove it in the bank and forget about it?
