Genuinely want to know why we can’t ignore entire player accounts yet?
Bad experience with a player and they are now making alts to hassle me with in-game mail.
Yes, the player and their subsequent alts have been ignored.
Yes, It’s been reported.
No, it hasn’t been actioned yet.
If I ignore a player in game, Why can’t I ignore their entire account so I don’t get pestered by them making alts, or potentially accidentally ending up in same groups as them again?
Anyone can suggest addons that can work in this way would be greatly appreciated.

I assume that they don’t want to do it because it could create some privacy issues. Say for example you have major beef with specific low level character, maybe a trade troll or AH alt that have been taunting each other with undercutting and such for years, technically you could ignore this little alt and use the fact that he/she is the only person on your ignore list to zero in on their other characters?
Like, it could be the little alt of someone in your guild and they’ve been messing with you for years lol
I know it sounds a little ridiculous, but that’s the kind of limb you’d have to go out on if you were to use privacy concerns to justify your reluctance to add account wide ignore.
I don’t really believe that it’s a technical limitation, because we already get temporary account wide ignore if we use the report spam function yeah?
Edit: Ignore me (pun intended), it would seem my knowledge on the subject is just a tad out of date lol
Hmm.
Don’t use addons. If they’re not ignored through the base game system, Blizzard won’t look at the harassment tickets. Ignore, report, never respond.
I’d ask in CS. Either someone has multiple accounts or they’ve got friends coming at you.

I think the account wide function is so that you can ignore the same player from whatever toon you are playing on your own account - not that it ignores all characters on their account.
Its only account wide from your own account to 1 specific character. It doesn’t ignore another persons entire account meaning they can just log onto another toon and continue harrassing you.
The article I linked gives the exact wording:
- /ignore now blocks all characters on the ignored player’s WoW account.

I hadn’t considered that but it makes sense.
Well its not working, or they have multiple accounts
No, it ignores their entire account lol.
Why ‘lol’? There’s nothing funny about this. This person is unhinged and I am unable to ignore them ingame.
Well its not working, or they have multiple accounts
Ok, so ignore each character which means you are ignoring each account.
Not sure what the issue is. Report them and move on with your life lol.
Which part of “its not working” are you having trouble with?

It doesn’t, otherwise I wouldn’t be wasting my time on the forums asking about it.
It does, you just aren’t ignoring anyone from the sounds of it.

Ignore them. Like I said earlier, I’d ask in CS (Customer Support forum) about how the account wide ignore works, since it doesn’t seem to be working for you.
Thanks for a genuine reply Sendryn. I will ask customer support as my ignore list is about arms length at this point.

It only works if they’re ignored on your server (As in their character is on your server), if it’s from other servers (including connected servers) it doesn’t usually work. Further, mail will always pop up but when you go to check it, you won’t be able to SEE it physically in your mail box despite it taking up a slot. So you get to see the “you have mail” icon pop up all the time, sometimes with their character names.

When you ignore someone it ignores the account, they probably just have an alt account they’re using
