Paladins are a hybrid class, a holy crusader doesn’t use a staff, go play a priest if you want a staff.
What says healers have to use staves?

There are plenty of 2h maces in the game with healing stats, also for druids too.

One hander and shield means more armor. Which given the state of aggro Is not a bad thing.
Try the short short pants and leggings from aq40. Its a very feminine look for males.
