Why can't Night Elf Warriors/Hunters equip the Darkshore Moon Glaives?

Gasp you monster.

Can night elf rogues use them?

Yep. Blizzard being dumb again. They should be swords.

Just make a variation for Daggers and 1h swords, that should cover everyone transmog wise right?

but they have to be NIGHT ELF ONLY

Of course!

Has there been any update to this, or are moon glaives still only equippable by demon hunters? I was super excited when the model was first leaked, as I roleplay a sentinel- it wouldn’t make sense for me to level a demon hunter just to get to wield the traditional moon glaive.

The restriction is stupid. An iconic racial weapon, restricted to a single class.

I know it’s been said already in the topic, but I do agree that they should be fist weapons, or some other one-handed melee item. It’s utterly discouraging that they’re giving something we’ve wanted for 14 years to demon hunters.

The brightside suggests this is a way to keep non elves from getting their grubby mitts on a moonglaive, but then they could’ve just made it night elf only.

If we were dealing with devs that were employing common sense instead of a desire to continue kicking NE players that is exactly what would have happened.

But
we don’t have that so this is what we end up with.

Agreed. Anything’s better than DH-only.

Pretty much. I don’t expect these devs to do anything positive for the night elves, and I feel bad when people actually think they are going to, it’s going to crush them even further when Darkshore becomes a Forsaken starting zone in 9.0.
With all this rabble about shadowmeld being ‘op in mythic’ despite all progression leaders STILL being horde, I wouldn’t be surprised if they nerfed it then scratched their heads wondering why factions are still imbalanced.

Even more ironic since it was the iconic weapon of Maiev, the Warden who HUNTED Illidan.

Maiev used an Umbral Crescent, not a Moonglaive

Not just that, but Tyrande herself. A priestess. A priestess.
