Why cant my brain just be happy and settle

On an orc shaman like ive had planned for months. Recreate the OG main, my all time favorite class.

I WAS HAPPY WITH THIS DECISION MONTHS AGO!

But lately ive thought maybe i want to be an undead priest? Melting faces is fun and it was my first 70 class so it would be a new experience at 60.

And then the ol brain really starts glitching last night and starts going “human warrior would be pretty legit plus i love tanking and youve never seen the alliance side of vanilla…”

:sob:

It doesn’t have to be an either/or decision. Level both and maximize rested exp. If you play on a PvP server you’ll have a backup if/when you’re being gank/camped.

I was all set to play an Undead Warlock until I took a harder look at their in-game model and asked myself “are you really going to be happy looking at this for months?”

Now I’m playing an Orc Warlock. His name is Morkie.

Nothing more fun than mind-controlling someone off the boat at Rachet after it has started moving.

hahaha

i’m human warrior. human warrior in 2004 and human warrior again in 2019.

I’m still not 100% decided yet either. I’m only interested in playing for the nostalgia and my only 60 in Vanilla was a Tauren Druid. But I did get a Shaman to level 30 or so and remember that being fun with the class quests to learn the various totems.

When the latest content patch came out for BFA I was glad I picked my Druid to go through it first. Having stealth and being able to spec as a tank made that content a lot easier for me. But on the other hand, smashing faces as an Enhancement Shaman is so much fun!

Maybe I should look into multi-boxing…

There is an easy checklist to get your answer.

  1. Is it alliance?
    if no: pick another faction
if yes: continue to class selection
  2. Is it a paladin?
    if no: pick another class
if yes: continue to race selection
  3. Is it human?
    if no: pick another race
if yes: You are ready to play

Oh you sparked an old memory, lol! I used to get hunted all the time on zuluhed by a horde priest who loved doing this to me when I fished. I swear he or she had another account with an alliance so they could find where I was. good times … lol

nono,
mind-controlling the paladin who is guarding LM to jump off cliff…

I feel your pain. It will seem silly, but I went back and forth for months. I initially decided to play a human warrior, then explored a retribution paladin (my Burning Crusade main) which I really wanted to like in a vanilla environment. After smacking myself in front of a mirror repeatedly and coming to my senses (human warrior), I played the same game with professions. It became a debate between what I wanted to do vs min/max/ideal professions. Ultimately, I decided that exploring a new class with the professions that I wanted to was most important and most likely to keep me satisfied in the long-term.

My best follow-on, unsolicited advice, though: when you do choose, commit. As they say, you can’t kiss all of the girls. No class can do everything, and as the leveling grind wears on you, your mind will start to play tricks on you along the way, emphasizing shortcomings of the class you chose and the strengths of those you chose not to play (or main, at the least). This was my siren song in original vanilla, and I got to 60 way too late to really take it all in and enjoy when it was fresh and actively being cleared.

Good luck to you in your deliberations, but take comfort in the fact that you’re going to have a blast no matter which way you go!

I feel that mood for sure. I have been settled on hunter for a while, but looking at the damage fall-off for later tiers has me wishy washy. Then I get thinking about tanking, how I hate waiting for tanks, how I can’t stand terrible tanks, so I start wondering if I should play a warrior. Then I start thinking about how lousy it is to level a warrior solo. So I think about having a go at warlock. But then I remember that warlocks have jack all for movement speed increases so it makes me think about hunter. Round and round.

Don’t get me started on races. Hoooo.

This is my original toon. I can’t even remember all the servers she’s lived on. Over the years, I’ve done solo, co-op with hubby, casual and semi-hardcore raiding, not so much into pvp and I still don’t plan to outside a BG every now and again.

With this experience I’ve come to realize I prefer my rogue for solo play (because I’m a kleptomaniac when it comes to PP ) and healing for groups. Don’t get me wrong, I certainly did like topping the DPS charts in a raid but as melee vs. ranged, I felt like I was seeing so much more as a healer because I tend to enjoy the content and social experience more than group playstyle.

I’ve never put the time into practicing ranged DPS in groups and still feel clumsy with multiple targets. So this is something I plan to explore more this time around.

I created a Druid and a Shammy to pocket heal for hubby’s tunes and to raid but I doubt I’ll ever abandon Nupe as my “main.” To me, Nupe is me.
