One was a 50 and the other was a 42.
Ok. The 42 may be the issue.
When you enter the dungeon on your 50, you probably see a yellow message that says “Legacy loot rules in effect” in the chat window.
Do you see that on both your level 50 and level 42 when entering the dungeon? My understanding of legacy loot is the individual character must be x levels higher (which I think is either 5 or 6 from Legion->BFA).

Low levels are forced into legacy loot by the presence of a high level. Any loot they receive is scaled to their level, but it is never personal loot, ie equippable by their armor type or loot spec. It has been this way since legacy loot became a thing.
Well, I’ll try the two-toon method then. Let me fire up my second account and pull a fresh level 10 in lulz.
Now doing EoA, will edit as we kill bosses.
Parjesh: both characters got gold only.
Lady Hatecoil: both characters got gold only.
Serpentrix: high level got 1 pc gear.
King Deepbeard: High level gets blood of sargeras. Neither gets gear.
Wrath of Azshara: High level gets 1 pc gear. None for low level.
I still need to run Neltharion’s Lair for a class hall quest for the low level.
Neltharian’s Lair:
Rokmora: High level receives 1 piece of gear.
Ularogg Cragshaper: gold only.
Naraxxas: High level receives 1 piece of gear.
Dargrul: High level received 1 piece of gear, low level none.
So this is what multiboxing feels like…
Anyways, boss 1 of HoV = both toons got only gold. Both toons say Legacy loot rules in effect.
I’m guessing that the gear is supposed to be going to the lower level toon, but since they’re not level 51 or higher, it’s acting like it’s personal loot instead. That’s my guess.
With that said, both toons say legacy loot rules are in effect. Something is clearly bugged. To the bug report forums!

not a damage thing, the big adds still do an absurd amount of damage to her and inside the paraxus you have no time to play.
If you don’t/can’t do the mechanics in a most efficient manner it is not possible to pass her.
I did beat the encounter on mythic but nothing was different from last week and the week prior, timers still the same, i just did more damage…but doing damage isn’t the painful part of the fight.

Low level is now 44. I will continue to add to that post above as we do Neltharian’s Lair, then link to it.
I’ll have to give it another try. My issue was the flower portals never spawned and I was wiped within 50 seconds of pull by the Paraxis. After three pulls where the flowers didn’t spawn I said forget it.
I agree with everything you’re saying. I’ve been complaining since the start of SL that we still can’t fully solo any of these Legion raids on mythic. It’s nice to see I’m not the only one that cares.
I thought they’d change the legacy damage in 9.1.5 to be higher, since Legion timewalking will bring more attention to those raids, but nope. I was wrong huh. Also, the “nerfs” they did to some bosses are a joke.
I just want my transmogs…

Blizzard doesn’t want you to get your mogs. They want you to ONLY play the most current content and engage with their terrible systems.

when she emotes about the paraxus, you have to kill one more dog i think…maybe a couple more, for me it was just one more(have to go down the ramp a little or wait for it)…then she will do some other emote and aoe blast all the mobs around her…
she wil lfor sure emote something when the flowers pop…bu you MUST kill at least one more mob to trigger her aoe otherwise she will get wrecked while you deal with the paraxus
The way to do it…and it WILL take practice if you haven’t done it yet…
start encounter, jump up to middle platform(where you entered at), kill adds with aoe that spawn, kill the big bot but you need to be in melee range so it doesnt bomb her…
then immediately jump with action button to the middle and use the lift airway to go up top, use action button to get closer to bot(he should be spawning or already spawned). kill it
immediately jump with action button down to where you started the encounter and aoe the small adds beating on her, this SHOULD trigger her emote about getting on the paraxus…
kill one dog running up the ramp to her to trigger her aoe(pretty sure she emotes something when she does it)
you should be able to hit the flowers to get on the ship and kill the mob FAST, instants…then click the two SOUTH crystals(you can keep running, the channel on it will still channel while continuing to run…no time to waste), then the two NORTH ones after those(you MUST end up going out the north side). Use any speed boosts you have when they are up…you will end with maybe 2-3 esconds left(maybe more if you have better speed boosts)
use action button to jump down and then again to get to the lower platform(the big bot will already be out and you gotta get into melee range FAST to stop it attacking her…she will prolly be emoting about being weak)…
kill the big bot and then use action button to get to middle where she is and clear up any adds there and ones coming…
She will emote about the paraxus gain but ignore it, you will win before it expires if you do the rest correctly)
action button back down to lower platform and just start killing, she will emote to kill remaining forces…
kill remaining forces!
Win!

lol, sounds simple enough but the first night a couple of weeks ago when i tried it i had to practice for literally 1.5-2 hrs to get everything down to muscle memory to do it all fast enough and rememebr where I had to be next. I’ll admit the fist may have slammed down on the desk a few times during those couple hours.

It is broken and removing tradition where old content can be soloed.
The fact is this is just one of the many things devs has done to remove the fun.
We are just totally sick of fun being removed no matter how small.
