Why can't I use the new mount (car) outside of undermine?

Sure, why not. Even at double the speed going around an obstacle will never be faster than simply going over it.

If you don’t like DRIVE, just don’t use it. It is super puzzling that it doesn’t slide in its own action bars like dynamic flight does.

They had to go through the entire mount catalog and add Dragonriding to each mount, including animations, then put Dragonriding - while making sure it was functional - on old zones. This is a strawman argument.

I get that you like the system, I do too, but… with Dragonriding, there’s really no one who exclusively uses ground mounts as you suggested earlier. I agree tho that ground mounts could use tweaking, but not to this level.

I guess it says something that people love D.R.I.V.E. so much they’re getting legitimately upset over not having it, LOL.

They could just add an option that can be unlocked for just the car and other vehicle based mounts. I’d like them to add it, probably would use flying a lot less.

Okay, so update the interface then. Problem solved. See? This is good. You tell them what you want and maybe they do it. Much better than acting like spoiled brats who didn’t get their favorite desert.

If they wanted to do dragonriding on the ground with some speed boosts or whatever, they would have.

They’re not going to do it now, no matter how many people request it.

What makes you say that?

Have you… uh not played undermine yet?

Sure. Have you played the game enough to know the difference between using a mount and using a vehicle?

Obviously not.

That is objectively not a strawman. A strawman is where you make a easily defeatable arguable on behalf of your opponent in a debate in order to give the illusion you won the debate by arguing with an artificial construct of their position rather then their actual position.

All I said was having both would be nice. And that we could have drive outside of undermine and also get better movement speed for ground mounts of other types. It’s not like the car would be the only mechanical mount players have access too.

There are people who at least claim to use ground mounts and many more who claim they’d use them more if they could move faster. I have no idea the exact numbers but they absolutely exists.

If blizzard wants to put in the least amount of effort for most reward just enable the car outside of undermine. But if they wanna put in more effort they can ALSO add dynamic ground mounts.

It’s one of those things that you either love it or hate it. But having a major feature like this be locked to one patch zone in one expansion is big feelsbadman. Most won’t notice it right now because most of the new content is in that zone. But people might start missing their car in 11.2 and I imagine we might see more people coming to the forums to complain about that. It’ll get much worse in 12.0 onward.

I’m not a fan of region locked mechanics. I hated that dragon riding was region locked for most of the expansion and that at least worked in all expansion zones including all the patch ones.

It literally would be harmless to just enable it anywhere.

None of that justifies it not being usable outside of Undermine.

I actually really like the DRIVE thing, I want it for my motorcycle mounts.

Only if it’s an option that I can turn off. Because I can’t handle ground speed going faster with my neurological problems.

If they put that on the exploration achievement with no way to opt out, I’d be screwed in any zone that doesn’t have flying.

Honestly, the new drive mount is much too fast. It’s one of the negatives of it due to the fact that it gets stuck or overshoots everywhere.

All blizz needs to do is take maybe half the speed and acceleration of the drive system and attach it to the regular ground mounts. Just put the boost and a hard stop ability like the flying mounts have on their own action bar.

They don’t need to reduce the speed, maybe add a toggle or option to lower speed… people could learn and adapt as well?

Adapt to what, not being able to turn like we can on our characters or on mounts?

The vehicle interface turns like a brick. That’s always been one of its biggest problems.

Hey, maybe it won’t come as a whole. I mean, maybe they are doing it in segments, for now they take the motorized vehicles and give them a specific way of functioning, maybe after that it’s the horses, then the bugs and whatever. Fact is you don’t know. And another fact is that if they went ahead and used this new mount, it shouldn’t be abandoned in Undermine forever.

We assume.

I’m all for faster/fun/interactive ground mount btw, but after seeing the interview saying they aren’t planning to carry it any further and then seeing it’s not even a mount we add to our collection I think it’ll take a bit of complaining before they crack. Lol

Same reason you can’t use the Siege Engine, Demolisher, or Chopper outside of Ulduar.

Really? Adapt to using the car, it shouldn’t take long, it’s not a really complicated system, if anything it’s braindead simple and I’ve no issues with the interface.

I am enjoying the DRIVE system overall and the idea of people trying to force a change is the last thing I want to see, unless it’s JUST AN OPTION.

More options are good. Them being usable outside undermine won’t negatively effect you.

I could see them giving us the car as a customizable ground mount. Maybe not drive though lol.

Although… we are getting housing. Maybe drive will come with the “family” update after

Agreed, an on/off button is necessary if they make it a lot faster. And I dont want to see drifting and nonsense like that; just the standard ground mount travel method.
