This is so busted, for some reason I can’t use Demonic Gateway to get the treasures on trees in Korthia… Seems like they are trying to block our class utility to be able to get to something easily and instead force us to use a glider or something.
Here is my question, do mages also lose their slow fall, and priests their levitate? do DHs lose their glide? Can Warrior’s heroic leap onto it?
This is just stupid, what’s the point of having a unique utility if they just decide you can’t use it in places where its actually useful.
Wonder if the Venthyr teleport also won’t work here.

Yea these types of mechanics being arbitrarily blocked sucks. For some skill not being able to move along an otherwise untraversable z axis makes sense. Like charge. For others like heroic leap, feral charge cat (bear one shouldn’t work as it’s like a warriors, cats is a jump), etc, it should work. Hell they even block shadow step for a lot of things in bgs. Harpoon on this hunter seems to have escaped that treatment so far but give bliz time and they will suck the fun out of it too I’m sure

Yeah it so weird, your class has this ability to teleport from one point to the other but anywhere it’s actually useful in the open world, we are not going to let you use it… This kind of stuff just feels bad. I really don’t get those design choice, it’s an open world, stop trying to put invisible wall and hidden blocks to put playbad platforming mini game (wow is awful for platforming stop putting those in the game) IS NOT A PROBLEM.

I haven’t done much with Korthia yet, but while running around doing the quests, I did stop and try to get some of the treasures.
Door of Shadows works. Well, at least for one tree. Sometimes it pays to be one of those rare Venthyr warlocks.

You right, venthyr doesn’t work, for those tricky niche uses you are referring to. Yes I think it is a slap in face to warlocks because as you say, the other classes still enjoy their glides etc.

We must be trying different things, because I feel like the gateway has been more forgiving compared to before.
I haven’t had any issues trying to cross gaps, or gateway into a tree (as long as I can put it ON TOP of the branch, not the side or bottom)
There’s definitely some spots you can’t use it, but the majority I’ve been able to access via gateway.

I…haven’t been able to get Gateway or Door of Shadows to work pretty much anywhere. At least none of the treasures I’ve come across so far have required much as far as jumping puzzles go.
The trick is to use the @cursor macro. I don’t know how or why, and I’m not even sure that I can prove it, but it seems that via @cursor it allows you to place the gate in a way you can’t otherwise with the targetting reticle.
And if it doesn’t work right away, just jîggle the cursor on the tree branch or whatever around while spamming the button until it works.
The only downside is that sometimes the gate gets placed below and you need to watch out for that. Always verify if the gate placement is the way you wanted before clicking on it.
Edit: Blizzard, you honestly cannot be serious with your absolutely mental language censorship just because our society has devolved into madness with this stuff where we seem to have no other issues than that… the english word JÎGGLE is a normal word, but I can’t type it because “jîgg” is not allowed? C’mon. Censorship is dumb and you know it.
I can understand when it’s for swearwords or racist terms, but not if it’s contained INSIDE a perfectly valid, non offensive english word.

This is so weird, yesterday I couldn’t use Demonic Gateway anywhere in Korthia and today its working like a charm ! Was able to access very unreachable places.
I use it just fine in Korthia. Did I miss a update or something and it didn’t work
At the beginning of shadowlands they fixed the pathing issues for heroic leap and gate, for a time it was super nice to be able to actually use these two things to get around, but the fun, it was too much… it had to be removed!

Not only is it weird and arbitrary, running up a tree all day is not enjoyable.

Same. I can get to most trees.
Sometimes gotta angle camera so you can see the “top” of where you want to place it.
