Why Can't I Uninstall WoW?

I can’t reply to my other thread until someone replies back.

Trying to reinstall the game to fix the bizarre performance issues I’m having, but battlenet has been stuck on “Removing files and reclaiming disk space” for about 10 minutes.

Is there any other way to safely and fully uninstall so I can reinstall after?

Make sure Battlenet is 100% closed in your task manager, manually locate the WoW folder and delete it. Then you can reinstall it.

It’s one of those games that’s basically a portable installation, meaning it doesn’t really store a bunch of stuff in things like the registry and whatnot. Like you can manually move it wherever you want and then use the locate option in bnet to find it again. There have even been times when I’ve moved it over to a drive on a new PC and just ran it straight out of the folder, without even having battlenet installed yet(handy for when I’m testing bugs on other PCs of ours).

Anyways, that should fix your problem. If your Battlenet is bugging out like that, you might have missed the admin elevation prompt that typically pops up for big operations like that.
