Dude, this is NOT how it was in vanilla. I cannot duel enemy faction players in contested territory. That is NOT how it was in vanilla. What happened?

Were you flagged and he wasn’t?
In vanilla you couldn’t duel someone from the opposing faction if you were flagged and they weren’t.
You could get around this by flagging yourself after the duel started
Contested no. If i went into a horde territory i could drop a flag.
I dont remember this being a thing on PVP. Maybe on PVE.
Also possible we just never tried it, since there is no point in dueling when I can just kill you outright.

I play on a pvp server so no flags involved. It’s a niche thing I want to do sometimes if I run into a horde character in a heavily mob Infested area such as a cave or outside sm, and they are cool, but I still want to fight them. But since they didn’t kill me, I don’t wanna kill them.
I am pretty sure you could duel enemy factions, if you /dueled them.

You guys must play pve servers. Imagine wanting to pvp but rolling a pve server.

Maybe. I legit don’t remember ever being able to drop a flag in contested zones, but maybe being a pvp server I never had a reason to when I could always just attack.
