Why can't i dispel cloak of shadows/antimagic shell?

Cloak of shadows is OBVIOUSLY a magical ability. The rogue goes shadowy (shadow magic) The ability dispels effects that deal magical damage but not physical damage (magic) And the cloak grans invulnerability to magic. Again… magical.

The same argument goes for the green antimagic spell dks have. Why can’t these abilities be purged or dispelled? Is it simply for pvp balance reasons? If so, I would like to ask why blizzard feels rogues and unholy dks (some of the strongest classes in pvp) need additional weight in their favour on the pvp balance scale.

If its not for balance, then what justification is there to not make these very very op abilities dispellable?

You said it yourself. That’s why you can’t dispell it. That being said Cloak of shadows isn’t that OP considering it’s duration.

And with DK’s AMS, you can just brute force your way through it. It’s just another absorb.

op says the priest with so much healing and if holy an absurd perma 30% dmg reduction from all attacks…not sure if the shadow spec has slow but if so they can easily outrun a dk no problem(at least the blood spec)…not sure how frost and unholy does…AMS and Cloak are defensive barriers that last a very short time not a buff…the WoW dispel is only to remove offensive//negative effects…I know that game like final fantasy dispel also work on barrier…and in some show dispel dont work on too OP characters

lets go in a different context though
priest dispels is for healing purpose
mage dispel(not WoW mages) is for battle purpose
that’s another way to view dispel(lorewise)
only few exception are like op written chars which often seem to break those rules

i always thought of cloak of shadows as an item. sort of like an invisibility cloak. you can’t dispel an article of clothing.

Don’t blow your wad before they blow their cloak/shell. Gotta bait it out first.
