First thing I did, left Mechagon (not my fave zone), went to Zul and IMMEDIATELY flew to the top of those mountains. You know, the ones some of us have been trying to climb for months and months now.

This is where a lot of my complaining comes from.
So my question is this:
Why did I have to wait almost a year to get to the top of these mountains? I wouldn’t spend MONTHS complaining about lack of flight if the mountains were at least climbable.
You know, that whole exploration thing you guys love ramming down our throats? Part of being able to explore, is to be able to FULLY explore.
i could almost- almost- deal with no flight except if you get pathfinder if I could climb up the mountains.
Please fill out this short application filled with some questions on why as a demon hunter you would like to join the explorers league. Thank you for your time.
Except for fun easter eggs like a dragon’s corpse clutching a destroyed mast from a boat. Or a sign that reads first. The mountains were clearly ment to have people reach the top but only let specific classes/specs do it without flying. Which is dumb.
Yes, I have my issues with Pathfinder, but I also understand the it isn’t going away. Are their ways I think Bliz can improve PF itself? Sure, I’ve made my suggestions known on these forums over the many years I have been on them.
However, I also think that there would be way less complaining on this forums about it IF we actually had access to the more remote spots (such as tops of mountains that you can almost fully climb, but get dead ended at a certain point (not a dead zone exactly, but more of a “middle finger” point).
That is what being able to fully explore an MMO is about. For me, flying is not about getting from point A to point B, never has been, never will be. Flying for me is about getting up to those harder to reach spots.
Shoot, people have been trying to do that since the game originally came out.
For me to climb a hilly mountain and get to a point in which it looks like I should be able to get up there, but can’t? That kills my immersion more than not being able to fly does.
Need I remind you we have goblin gliders and a class that sprouts wings (the glider actually goes farther than my wings do)? So there’s zero excuse for us NOT to be able to get up there.
Mountains are supposed to be insurmountable. Unless you’re a rogue. Or possibly a Demon Hunter.
More importantly, why as a ghost, can’t you go through said mountains? Or through rocks or a blade of grass or a wall?
As many times as we (at least I have) died over the course of the last few years you’d think I had mastered the ability to go through solid objects.
Especially now that we have Bwonsamdi as a spirit guide.
It is possible, as a Demon Hunter, to climb onto the highest mountain in Zuldazar without flying. You need that double leap talent (it is in tank spec if I remember correctly?). On slippery terrain, you have to use the second charge before your character comes to rest. That way you can climb great elevations. That very high mount Cortis in Drustvar is also climbable this way.
The lesser of the 2 mountains in Zuldazar is for some strange reason not climb-able with the double jump, the interaction with terrain there is different for some weird reason. However, you can still get on top with either the Darkmoon faire cannon, or the [Falling Flame] item from Mists of Pandaria, in combination with goblin gliders!
