Why can't gearing be simple and not RNG based?

Yes. I’m not a huge fan of it either. However I choose not to handicap my raid by not doing it.

It’s clearly not required. However it’s the easiest way to replace and upgrade your gear.

It’s not super time consuming considering you’re a healer.

You also don’t need to do every dungeon on both to get 2k.

You are a prime example of why people who barely play the game should not give ideas as they don’t know what you’re talking about.

I think your idea is just as terrible as the OPs.

If you choose to not play the game that’s your fault not anyone else’s.

I used to play this game 12-15 hours a day until I got a life. Back then I did all the stupid grinds for any minor upgrade.

Want to know why so many left WoW? Because it’s too time consuming.

With systems more targetable then avoid wasted time, people could make more use of their limited time and be more inclined to play.

Right now most people walk away because they just can’t keep up with the limited time they have.

I work 65 hours a week and have a family. Please make more excuses.

It’s not even that time consuming.

Again more excuses.

And again even more excuses.

The “grind” is literally just…raiding.

Literally just doing the activity a raider was already doing.

its basically the mop gearing system with timeless token farming. :man_shrugging:t3:

To me, this is still grinding the same content. It’s like solving the Tuesday crossword puzzle in the newpaper, but the puzzle never changes.

It’s just a different flavor of boring.

I’d rather 1% mount droprates be 3-5%. I rather like the current loot system despite its flaws. I want the Great Vault to come back in 10.x, albeit some tweaks (such as a re-roll) or "Spend 12 tokens and generate a new Great Vault selection.

  • 2 weeks of nothing you want? → Redeem 12 GV tokens → Here’s 9 items to pick from, all max level, all based on your current week’s vault. (You can still pick 6 tokens.)

except you need 30 boss kills for 1 then 20 more boss kills, and then 10 more boss kills, and if you think you can kill a boss more than one time per week to get more kills in, I have a bridge to sell you. This is time-gated.

Better question is why get bis when next patch you gonna start all over

because once you’re done you complain there’s nothing to do until next tier.

Yes…it requires killing raid bosses.

The thing raiders are doing by virtue of raiding.

Most MMO also don’t have you only able to try 1/week on the thing you want doing content that takes multiple hours only for a slim chance to get the gear you want.

I remember running heroic dungeons before Korthia dropped and going 2 full runs without a single item upgrade because it kept dropping singular staffs for me, instead of trinkets which is what i needed to upgrade (had raid staff at the time on that toon)

This, bliz uses this bloated design to hide hugely increased grind with the same or less content

They basically built a ton of rep grinds into our power progression where before this bliz team took over rep grinds were never tied to power like this, so they were optional

This is due to cash shop revenue being pursued through grind as a metric

Why can’t we have fun and engaging world content again?

Why do we always have to pretend like lore doesn’t matter too?

if gearing was simple, then nobody would do content more than 3 times.

We already have a bunch of people spending tons of $$$$ on WoW tokens to buy loot funnels thus bypassing the crazy grind. It’s pretty much a “premium” service these terrible f2p games have just with extra steps.

Anyone else not willing to spend that money is SoL and has to grind for months for BiS.

Ah I see now how the mental gymnastics work for the morons who think wow is p2w.

“If I buy 1 boost I get every single bis piece at 285 ilvl mailed to me while these scrubs have to run more than 1 dungeon lol”

And you are calling me the moron. Clearly you do not know how loot funneling services work. You can even buy multiple.

Keep up with the copium.

Ah yes you got me, every single player with aotc or ksm bought 700 runs and spent $30k on wow.

The mental gymnastics with you. Also you don’t even raid so begone. Clearly are irrelevant here.
