Cool.
Get rid of M+, arenas, ladders, and lets just go back to a good ol’ fashioned RPG.

I played WCIII before WOW and I don’t think those characters’ presence in the game detracts from my point at all. If anything, it strengthens it. They have taken those characters and changed them dramatically in ways that make the damage irreparable.
Just to be clear, about what is being said here…
Rather than take a previously dominant male character (e.g. Thrall) and reimagine him as a helpless, worthless, emotional wreck - keep him as a dominant exemplary male character
Rather than take a female character who has always played a support role (e.g. Tyrande) and thrust her unnecessarily into a lead role - let her be support to Malfurion
There is nothing wrong with having the hero be a male, as well as nothing wrong with the female being support. If you want to switch that and have the hero be female and the support be male, then “MAKE NEW CHARACTERS”
The same goes for any “alternative NPCs” Do not take something that wasn’t there and randomly slap it in the game. If it fits, then write it in, in a way that makes sense which would undoubtedly boil down to, again, “MAKE A NEW CHARACTER”
At the same time, players HAVE TO RECOGNIZE that this game has features about it that are limiting, the limits make the game more of a genre - did you ever wonder why we don’t just add in the cast of Starcraft? The reason is, it doesn’t fit in this game, it would look ridiculous. If you want to have a fantasy game with magic and dragons and knights then you need to limit what sorts of other things you add to the game, and this goes all the way down to the story and NPCs and what sort of life in game they might realistically enjoy. Just because the real world has certain things in it, it does not mean the game that does not mimic real life needs to have them too.
Well then you missed a lot.
Nonsense.
Both Malfurion and Tyrande were introduced in WC 3. She was not “always playing a support role.”
When Malfurion forbids her from freeing Illidan, she says something like:
“Only Elune forbids me.”
And then she does as she sees fit.
Lmao Tyrande literally leads the Night Elves as a nation you walnut.
Furion spent the first eight years of WoW asleep.
Just say you’re sexist with less words next time.
Yeah, everything that is bought/sold is geared toward a specific group. You know the specific group of people WoW is geared toward? People who like to play video games. And men are not the only people capable of enjoying/playing video games. Why would they limit themselves to half the video game player base?
I’m not sexist, you wouldn’t call someone demanding females get more important ingame roles as sexist and its the EXACT SAME THING - whats good for the goose and vice versa
good so let the other half play the game as it was and stop making edits simply to satisfy them
how?
if they add all that, the burgers fries and shakes are still there, the problem is they’re tossing those out the window.
Right that’s why you typed this whole paragraph:
That comes as close to saying “women don’t belong in fantasy” outright as you can.
You can’t blame me for your misinterpreting what I said. I am not going to sit here and spell out every instance and every detail where they need to limit things, but it is what it is, and that has nothing to do with how I view gender equality.
It is extremely small minded for anyone to think that there isn’t a space where there aren’t an overabundance of strong female or alt female characters and, thus, it must be bias toward men.
There are plenty of situations where the exact opposite could be true and it wouldn’t be viewed as sexist toward men.
If someone does not like the traditions that traditional fantasy is steeped in, then its probably not a good genre for them to get into. If they like it, then they have to accept it as it, you cannot rewrite history to suit your own interests.
Okay, give me one. Just one.
Just an FYI, Metzen has basically RP’d Thrall as himself in the IP from the get-go. When he settled down and retired, his character settled down and retired. Only recently has Thrall been out from under Metzen and been able to start growing back into the character we cared about. It’s a long, slow road to do this organically. He’s almost there. He earned back the trust of the major faction leaders in BFA, he’s slowly built back confidence and regained his mastery of the elements up to this point in Shadowlands, and been given the “pep talk” to once again fight for the future of the Horde.
It has nothing to do with “emasculation” or whatever the heck you’re trying to get on about. Metzen simply wanted to retire his personal character without really considering the implications on the IP, and then after his departure Blizzard has been able to try to bring the character back into the fold.
Cool, but this burger joint would be awesome for vegans so they would take over the market of that burger place.
Maybe WoW shifted to appealing to male players to appealing to a female market because now this was the new target market.
Some men will move on, the ones who want games catered to thier specific needs, most will stay. Blizzard doesn’t lose much and nether does the burger joint by rebranding.
If it’s no longer your brand of enjoyment, move on. Find another burger joint.
happy to, so rather than bring in mechagnomes for example, they should have left them out. Even though there was some mech/tech/steampunk since day one, it was always limited, and should remain extremely limited when you have people wearing armor and using swords, otherwise it absolutely makes no sense. Medieval armor was the best option when it existed, but it would never exist along side robots for a reason.
To add to this, another thing that they have done very poorly is expand upon the mysteries that existed in the beginning. They should never have upturned every rock and peered into all the dark places in WOW because, in doing so, they have cheapened the world.
They can do anything they want.
No one is making them change anything, they are changing things because they feel it is more financially lucrative to do so.
You may not be the intended audience anymore. It happens.
Even though there was some mech/tech/steampunk since day one, it was always limited
Lol what game have you been playing? Engineering has been a profession this entire game. They started the steampunk in Warcraft II, it’s always been a part of the world. This has never been a “high fantasy” universe.
Now mechagnomes are awful, but not because of steampunk.
this is a prescription for the failure of wow financially.
my little pony wow will never pay the bills…
Exclusive menu driven restaurants do not succeed on large scale for a reason in todays market.
I think Five Guys disagrees with you
succeed on large scale

I read it, but you’re using intentionally vague words.
Guess we will see, won’t we.
