Why can't blizzard figure out crafting?

I honestly can’t figure it out. Crafting feels terrible in this game- Profits are really low unless you want to become a slave to it, and gathering professions also feel terrible, i have all my professions maxed out for gathering, and yet it still feels like i barely scrape by with T3 gathers.

Also, not to mention how they brutalized Artisan’s acuity this expansion. I genuinely cannot figure out what they were thinking. You went from overflowing with it in DF, to now having it be probably the hardest material to gather in the entire expansion.
And naturally, blizzard made it soulbound, so you can’t share it between alts. Like… Why? Really?

Crafting in general these days feels overly complex, time consuming, and just in general not worth it. Obviously I know there are people wh ocan make tons of gold through professions- there are people who are really good at those things, and basically play the game just for professions and alt maxing. And more power to them for sure, if that’s how they choose to play.

But from the perspective of someone who mostly raids, and does m+, while just simply getting max level of each profession on my alts, it feels like such an insane chore to do it. And not to mention that now, since professions are so complex, i feel like it’s impossible to catch up on things like skill points, etc etc.

Is this just a me thing? Does anyone agree? Maybe im just ranting out of frustration, but i really just don’t like the system as it currently is.

I like the system. It could use some tweaks, but it’s more engaging and has more RPG elements to it now. I like that we can craft gear that’s relevant now.

Also don’t forget you can refine herbs.

Remember how profits were non existent for most professions before?

Man I’ll take low profits over that lol

You need to do patron work orders. I gained thousands of acuity by the time I capped my professions.

Why can’t you figure out crafting?

It’s not difficult. Just read.

Their ego doesn’t allow them to make changes based on feedback that goes directly against their vision. It’s been their downfall for a decade or so. It will continue to be their downfall in every aspect of this game until they get new leadership that cares about the player experience.

I’ve abandoned crafting this expansion. Even the gathering ones, I just collect and sell. I still enjoy crafting some of the old stuff from Classic to Shadowlands, though; some of the alchemy and enchanting stuff still sells really well, and is worthwhile, imo. Inscription has a few bright spots, and engineering will (hopefully) always have gliders, lol. The rest are largely just Xmogs and bags.

The only problem with professions that I can see are the catch up mechanism, some seem to trickle KP in while others are nearly a guaranteed drop. Compare LW to Enchantment for example.

I can see how that would be frustrating for those coming in late. But as others have said, patron work orders are the way, for both KP and acuity.
