When they try to pretend otherwise? That is all that bothers me.

RPGs aren’t monolithic in features, so this argument is fairly weak.

They shouldn’t buff the plate options. They should force warriors to just wear plate. If they do buff the plate options, then they need to nerf warriors.
Nonsense. BiS is BiS. Armor values have nothing to do with DPS. It’s not “your” gear just because its the only armor class you can wear.

You didn’t hit a nerve. I’m a casual raider who will only roll on leather or mail at 40 if I’m encouraged by my raid to do so. At 25, I’ve only rolled on mail.
Your post was just that outrageously unserious. You’ve clearly lost a roll to a warrior on something at some point and you still aren’t over it. That’s the emotion you should be dealing with.
Warriors just need a nerf. Simple as.
Vanilla WoW is heavily inspired by DnD. In DnD you have upper limits to what armor class you can wear, just like WoW. In DnD if the effect on a piece of gear that is below your AC is beneficial for your class, you will likely decide to wear it if you aren’t tanking encounters, just like WoW.
Removing RPG elements from the game because you guys are preemptively taking ownership over gear before you’ve won it isn’t gonna happen. That’s not how gear works in Classic.

yeah and armor isn’t the best stat for pve dps, so Ill equip it when tanking/pvp and still roll on all mail/leather since it’s optimal for dps. See you in raid!

It isn’t gonna get changed because its antithetical to Classic design. If you want an MMORPG without the RPG, you can play the hit action lobby-based MMO: World of Warcraft Dragonflight.
I hate to break it to you, but SoD is retail lite. All the runes, are retail runes. All the design changes, are in retail already. You’re the one who is delusional about the game they’re playing. SoD is retail, retail is SoD.

Psst: you can literally cross class into a battle mage in DnD. Waiting on you to demand casters have weaponskills and access to plate. It’s an RPG, right???

Unfortunately as proven by people like Aguy, the vast majority don’t have that mindset. They will roll on whatever the bis list says and they will try to take every item possible.
You can think its silly if you want, classes aren’t getting AC locked in Classic.
You have no more of a right to any item in a raid than I do. If something serves my spec I’m raiding as, and it’s MS>OS, then the item being cloth, leather, mail, or plate is irrelevant.
If it were something like a staff that had fat +healing on it, but had higher DPS than my current 2h, you’d have a leg to stand on, but if it’s a piece of leather that has the highest STR+AGI stats available, then the fact its on leather doesn’t mean a thing.
