We can make 141 or whatever weapons sure
But we can also make weapons that hold the power of whatever god or such we are fighting yet we haven’t figured out how to make a pointy stick at 200/230 ilvl?
Pretty weird if you ask me
Grind out the crafter’s marks. You can make use them to upgrade your crafted gear to 200 ilevel. Or 220 I think but it makes it a unique equip.
The new marks don’t work on weapons. Because reasons.
It’s not a reason, because the developers never answer “why” questions, but the technical cause seems to be that the more advanced Crafter’s Marks only work on Blue quality crafted items, and there are no Blue quality weapon, shield, or offhand recipes.
There is no reason why Blacksmiths shouldn’t be able to make the entire range of armor, weapons, and shields. The game developers haven’t given us rational reasons for limiting recipes on weapons and shields, because they don’t have them. Given what has happened with Patch 9.1.5, maybe the next area for WoW senior management to address is Game Professions and how to make them more fun for the player community.
In that case I take it back, they’re just being lame.
That would pair up well with old content if we’d have all dungeons unlocked. Upgrading loot from each random xpac to max level. Simple return to old content involving trades. Getting rid of brown nosing for rep, and zillion of obsolete currencies.
Looting “old content” based on ilvl at time of loot > upgrade loot with materials if you wish to keep your piece.
Play. Loot gear and loot mats. Keep gear if you like it.
Looting a chest plate with 3 gem slots from a WoD dungeon? Cool for a stam build with stam gems. A keeper.
Someone else looting a weapon with an amazing proc from 14 years ago? Cool. A keeper that will need to be upgraded by a blacksmith.
You get the idea. A nice necklace with blablabla on it… get your JC to upgrade it as your ilvl goes up.
I’d love to stack sets, to collect gear that will be useful. With a bit of an open mind to be visionary… that genre of mmo would be as addictive as xmogs and planned obsolescence for keeping the player base.
The alchemist stone… engineering creations…
Blizz know it all but someone is a major blue baller there… prolly someone that hates video games, someone who dedicated its career to bash on this game potential
Crafting > upgrading old content. BoE BoP no difference. And yes of course crafting a weapon that is better than a poking stick, and also upgradeable so you keep it.
