Why can we only run BFA dungeons when leveling?

Maybe it’s an un popular opinion, or something? But the BFA dungeons are god awful. To be fair I thought the entire expansion was awful.

Why cant we queue up for dungeons that are actually for our level (accomponied by the random dungeon bonus… random being dungeons from the selection we would have normally like ragfire chasm, deadmines, wc starting out etc.)

Lame!

I really miss the world tour of the old leveling dungeon finder. You can kind of cheese it by swapping Chromie time every few levels, but bah.

Yeah I definitely remember a time post-vanilla when it was like this…

now they’re just going to let that content go unused and forgotten forever?

who makes these decisions?! wack.

No… you talk to chromie to change your expansion. I prefer cats and TBC for all the quests.

Blizzard’s reason was that new players (which is the subset I assume you’re talking about) need to do BfA in order to be closer in the storyline to current content. Is it a good reason? Not really since new players are going to end up just as confused. I started playing during Wrath and my first character was a Troll which naturally started in the Troll starter area and then I worked my way up through the expansions. The only thing that confused me was the weird way people were talking in chat and the many things about the game I had to learn as a total noob.

I believe that new players should, after they leave Exiles Reach, be able to see Chromie and pick which expansion they play through. They should have the right to be able to choose their road to confusion, just as I did… :sunglasses:

Talk to Chromie, she’s ya homie.

New players (unless they are using the level 60 that comes with the expensive version of Dragonflight) cannot use Chromie until their first character reaches level 60. They are basically forced into BfA.

I’m not sure what you’re complaining about here, to be honest.
Bfa is only mandatory for your very first character (be thankful it wasn’t SL). After that, the expansion/dungeons you go through are (via Chromie) up to you.

Eh. It’s done for a few reasons:

  1. Too many dunegons in the game, thus confusing an ever shrinking playerbase. Imagine if a bunch of newbies who’s only experience was the Deadmines suddenly popped into the Occulus, lmao.
  2. Queue times were getting too long.
  3. Blizz wanted to train newbies on more modern dunegons design.
  4. A lot of the older dungeons look like garbage with textures straight out of 2005. The BfA ones are simply prettier.
  5. A lot of people would immediately bail if certain dunegons popped. Mostly ones from TBC or wrath or Cata.

uhm. tbc dungeons aren’t THAT bad.Only standout is magisters terrace with it’s cc being required in leadup to and during 4th boss. wrath ones are mostly ROFL easy. except for occulus and the 3 lich king related ones. also trial of champions is annoying until you learn mechanics.

i recently leveled a character as a tank from 60-70 in BC TW and man, a lot of those mobs just randomly CC the tank and start smacking the team.

i gotta say. BC sucked.

the dungeon length is a big + though.

OP though, don’t u only have to do BFA once? u just swap to whatever timeline u want with chromie after that.

i just think BFA makes sense because it’s modern, but again you really only need to do it once to level 60.

I’ve just hit a retention point with them permenetly. I just do not want to enter the overwhelming majority of them. I hate playing them, being in them, and looking at them.

For whatever reason, only missing Shadowlands, BFA just felt like the most exasperating expansion to me. BFA just makes me tired lol.
