Why can I not outrun meta locks?

I feel like I’m losing my GD mind.

On my Druid it doesn’t matter what I do, feline swiftness +30 ms, travel form, +40ms, dash +50ms. None of it helps me get away from meta locks. They just keep up with me the entire time with their drain life going spamming their instant cast searing pain until I die.

On my mage, doesn’t matter if I blink I gain zero distance on them. I got 2 blinks off on a meta lock before and he was still in fing range and his drain life didn’t break.

Istg I am losing my mind. How the tdbkoxsrtdtv do Warlocks out speed everything? What am I missing?

Edit: and don’t say their charge. You can see them charge, it’s not that.

Maybe they specced into Grim Reach which increases the range of Drain Life?

I noticed this as well. To be fair I do not play meta much on lock and have not played in much p2. But when I did it p1 I felt faster for some reason. Then kiting one in my hunter is interesting as well…

Unless it gives them move speed as well it’s not my issue.

Seems like a skill issue.

Idk, I have this issue too. It’s supposed to be like a 26 yd range max with talents, but it lasts till almost 40. My abilities actually go red at 36 because I’m out of range on my druid and it’s still latched.

have you tried… i dont know… use your NOVA SPELL and BLINK AWAY.

I think the issue is that it is a dot, and you have to be far enough away at the dot tick? or wait you can’t outrun dots that are on you at all can you? it doesn’t actually break on real distance because you have the debuff on you and it is not channeled, the spell graphics are deceptive.

With the master channeler rune obviously though.

its not outrunnable unless it is not the rune version, which only sub-optimal heretic monkeys like me would use.

We have 0 speed increasing abilities so you’re probably just bad.

Drain Life is not a channeled ability anymore, its a dot so long as they’re using the Master Channeler rune iirc.

So you can’t break it by outranging the warlock. The only way it falls off is if the dot timer ends and they can’t refresh it.

Right, cuz it requires so much skill to run in a straight line :man_facepalming:.

They also never fall out of searing pain distance.

It’s super easy to outrun literally everyone except meta Warlocks.

Searing Pain needs a huge nerf IMO. Nothing dumber than a ~250-300 DPS one-button rotation on a tank class that can heal the hell out of itself.

maybe their meta rune gives them like 60% increased move speed. I mean it gives them everything else.

Transform into a Demon, increasing Armor by 500%, reducing the chance you will be critically hit by 6%, increasing your threat by 50%, increasing mana gained from Life Tap by 100%, gives 60% move speed, transforming the functionality of some of your abilities, and granting some new abilities:

Searing Pain: Now instant.

Shadow Bolt: Becomes Shadow Cleave, a Shadow melee attack that hits up to 3 nearby enemies, but has a 6 sec cooldown.

Fear: Replaced with Menace.

Demon Charge

Demonic Howl

Bear Form

Disarm

Bladestorm because why not

Locks have the worst mobility in the game. Just root/slow them. I assure you they won’t be catching you.

What brainiac at blizzard thought giving them an instant spammable searing pain was smart? That is my only issue with locks at the moment.
