DUH!
Because the pole is too damned long.
You cant get in close enough.

I think it’s supposed to represent your character making an important tactical decision.

As a warrior you can physically exert yourself to the fullest, but for only a short amount of time, so you have to decide what is the best way to do that.

But why are all the wall lamps in ironforge so low we get our heads caught on them?
