Why shd Horde wait 3 times more in just this aspect of the game ??
To placate lore/RP fans, random bgs will probably be the last bastion of faction vs. faction conflict.
Which is weird because Horde can already Merc as Alliance.
It would make sense that with cross faction grouping coming in 9.2.5, that Horde who are merced can queue for random BGs with Alliance in the group.
I don’t think this is the case though or they haven’t considered it yet.

Guilds will remain single-faction, and random matchmade activities like Heroic dungeons, Skirmishes, or Random Battlegrounds will all remain same-faction (both because there is less faction-driven pressure around random groups, and to avoid compromising the opt-in nature of the feature by randomly placing a queuing orc in a group with a night elf).
Basically anything that uses an automatic LFG. The Opt-in feature would be a PITA.
It could work with some new content, I could picture something like Brawlers Guild for Mercenaries with both factions.
Hopefully learning the languages is not gated behind weeks of a campaign, before we can play together.

It would look kinda silly zoning into wsg as horde and seeing 9 female night elves on your team.
You could come up with a similar scenario in av.
There is an ounce of rp left in the game that they need to remove before it makes sense.
What is the new ideal meta arena/bg comp though? Should be interesting.
I would love a 3rd outlaw faction that could let people make any race (with the appropriate class) but you couldn’t enter any major Horde or Alliance faction city, town or outpost without being flagged. Outlaw cities would be the Neutral Cities (with added portal room to each expansion zone) would be their home.
RP angle is fixed.
in another game in a galaxy far, far away players could switch factions from rebel to imperial by killing certain faction alligned mobs. very handy when hunting jedi.

According to everyone else and Blizz that PvP is a “side game” factions really shouldn’t matter in that side game then.
Yes! Please make random bgs cross faction as well, the wait on horde side is double the alliance wait, sometimes more. Blizz you are restricting players from enjoying the game for lore reasons no one really cares about.

horde behave like A-HOLES in bgs, making them completely undesirable for ally players and then qq like infants about having to wait - you just can’t make this stuff up!
i just got out of a wintergrasp where the ally were a bunch of guys trying to gear up and the horde all seemed to have gladiator level gear and so badly outmatched the ally that the most hks and ally player had was 15 and the most a horde had was over 185. most of the horde had zero deaths.
what ally player is EVER going to re-que after that?
so what’s the normal thing to do in a situation like that - just win right? get it done with, right?
nah - come on - where’s the fun in that. noooooooo drag out the bg for as long as possible, making at as unpleasant/BORING as possible, extracting every single hk you can for as long as you can.
and then go gretch like a toddler who can’t always have his/her own way - classic and hilarious in a sad/pathetic sort of way.
and for what? not a single horde player in that bg is going to be able to do anything at all with that honor. you can’t transfer honor to alts - i have no idea what any of those guys were even doing in that bg. but they were all there. getting all that sweet honor, which was useless to them.
and don’t give me this garbage about tuning up for rbgs - i don’t buy it. you are as good as your competition - those guys ‘learned’ nothing from that bg.
if you’re wondering why que times are so long - take a peek in the mirror - there’s the cause/solution to your problems.
i hope your wait times to go six hours.
