Why break groupfinder for sub-50?

Just came back from a break and was going to use group finder for a quest and realized I can’t. It’s greyed out and says you must be 50? Why in Sam’s hell would you break group finder in a mmo???

The justification given was to stop spammers offering boosting / carries. I don’t agree with it, it’s one in a terrible series of decisions made lately.

Yeah, it doesn’t make sense whatsoever, if you’re gonna do the elite quests, and namely as a Enhancement Shaman who are terribly weak as one ply toilet paper, it is a MUST that premade groups must be available.

If players wouldn’t abuse their systems, they wouldn’t have to resort to these solutions. They aren’t going back to the days of paying people to police, so their only resort is monitor the behavior and derive from that a way to block it that doesn’t require employing more people.

But I disagree on this being a “terrible” solution. If it works. While leveling, you still have dungeon finder. You can always asks for help in general channels like we did in the past.

This is the internet. No matter what you do somebody is going to come up with a way to abuse and exploit the system.

but you don’t burn down the entire village because some people were doing bad things in it.

I agree you don’t burn down the internet.

However, you have to weigh the two. The majority of players are end-game players now… that’s just it. End-game.

So weighing the two, it’s a small inconvenience to use /general for leveling toons than it is for the majority of game play seeing group finder filled with advertising.

It’s hyperbole that leveling is broke without it.

The thing is that if you do weigh it, exactly what problem was the group finding causing that demanded it be removed?

Sure people were selling boosts, but it’s not like they wont still do that. This wasn’t a solution because they didn’t solve any problems. They merely moved them, because people will always find ways to sell boosts so long as other players want to be boosted.

I agree that not having it doesn’t break leveling, but it feels like they took what might have been useful from time to time and removed it for virtually no benefit.

What a ridiculous stance. You don’t punish everyone because of the actions of a few. And even those actions…who cares? Oh no, people are being carried! Literally has zero impact on me.

It does make sense and is ultimately better for the game. Its to combat the rampant gold selling in group finder which annoyed anyone who actually used the tool. Until they find a better way, its the best they could do and is healthy for the game as a whole.

Suppose that does make sense. Still just be better to report and move on. Though it might also be better to just make it so that you can “Queue” if you hit that little icon next to the quest in the dropdown to avoid the need to search in Premade and all while keeping you from using Premade.

Idk how anyone defends this… Look, take 5 minutes, login to the game and get rid of the sellers. It’s probably easier than looking at reports??? And even if they couldn’t login to the game for WHATEVER reason… They do have reports. I report them every time I search through the group finder and I’m 100% certain there are several people who do that as well.

Sooo… overall, they’re just lazy and don’t want to do it themselves or hire someone to do it… So they punish us all. Congrats, another stupid decision.
