Emissaries give 385 ilvl gear. So does capping Conquest through Incursions and random BGs. Darkshore Warfront gives 400ilvl gear. So does Darkshore Ivus.
I haven’t done a single normal mode or higher raid, mythic dungeon, or rated PVP match, yet I’m still at 393ilvl.
If you aren’t a mythic raider or high rated PVPer, why bother?

Wouldn’t people do Harder Content because they want a challenge and hanging out with guildmates?
They will still have higher ilevels because they have more consistent sources for that gear.

I am essentially the same as you, I have done Heroic dungeons but that’s pretty much it aside from those you mentioned.
Pretty lack luster expansion, they really could have used some pvp vendors with conquest and honor point spending as well as valor points back for actually participating in the content.

They’re working on a solution to this problem. And it is coming out this summer!

why bother raiding in general at this point right? m+'s a 5 man content giving more gear and often than raiding with 10-30 people.

I did Mythic and I still don’t want to bother anymore. The challenge can only give me so much motivation.

it kinda rhymes with “Jurassic Cow” .

I know this might be a hard concept for some, but maybe because they enjoy it? Crazy I know

Because mythic isn’t the only difficulty. The raids are challenging, the mechanics are fun. Completing something with a group of dedicated people feels rewarding.

The reward to difficulty ratio is definitely out of whack for many activities this is expansion.
Warfront and it’s world boss
Emissary
Weekly mythic+ cache
M0x4 weekly
All 4 need their rewards dropped significantly or outright removed.
Edit - and make warforge and titanforge +5 and +10 only respectively.

Even if I enjoy a certain type of content, I can only do it so many times before it feels like a waste of time when the rewards aren’t worthwhile.

I personally think m+ destroyed the point of raiding this expansion, I’ve seen people fully 410+ decked out on heroic bod and they were there for “titanforging” cuz they were bored…
either has to be tonned down quite a bit or increase the ilvl from raids to never reach the point where you’re getting the same ilvl that you would get from heroic/mythic difficulty by spaming 5 man content.

because this is a game and raiding/doing m+ is fun?

interesting, what if m+ had no gear reward then just complete it for some sort of CM set reward or weapons it would be better right? since it’s for fun?
too bad it will never happen anymore m+ is another “e-sport”
it’s near impossible at this point for them to change this.

Since the beginning of BfA, I wandered aimlessly through the sea of Alliance raiding guilds on Sargeras, then Proudmoore, Tichondrius, and finally, $100 later, I found a guild on Khadgar (through the guild recruitment forums here) that meshed with my available schedule.
Many of them are older than I, and have lives beyond WoW. If someone couldn’t make the raid one week, they would just be picked up again next week. We rotate tanks based upon progression, ability, & gear. Basically we are still stuck at normal Blockade, though we recently made decent progress (brought it down to 15%). Had I not found this guild, I either would have gone Horde, or I would have quit the game altogether.
Working as team to solve challenging puzzles is what I play this game for. I don’t have many friends IRL; they all moved on from WoW and away from where I live (I moved as well). The focus here where I work in Silicon Valley is to work hard and play hard. My goal in WoW is to push myself to the limits of my ability as a tank. I accomplished this last week, completing my first m+10. I intend to continue and eventually push beyond 15, maybe even a 20.
I’ve always known that the whole gear grab was a farce. Every expansion I always wonder if there’s more to the game. In WoLK, I joined another family like guild and the game became amazing for me from that point on. Every expansion saw me trying to find another guild that I could call home.
In Legion I joined several progression focused guilds, one that was especially cut throat when I was benched. They assumed I was the problem, despite the fact that the MT was also the RL, so he was pulling double duty keeping a bunch of goofball DPS in line, because there was only handful of us that were actually serious about progression. I left them because they weren’t the right fit for me. My guild is the reason why I bother doing harder content. I’ll do what it takes to help these guys get AOTC. I owe them that for bringing me on-board, giving me a home, and allowing me to be their progression tank!

Isn’t that how challenge mode dungeons worked in MoP?
indeed CM modes were the base for M+ system… if its for fun, I don’t think people should spam this in order to outgear the content in the second week of the tier.

Some people like to challenge themselves, op. They think it’s fun.
