Why are you just rehashing the Garrosh storyline for Sylvanas in BfA? Don't get me wrong: Garrosh going bonkers was a great story for MoP! But, and here's the key, we've already seen it. We've already had a warchief go war-crazy and try to kill off the Alliance. I mean, you practically told us Saurfang was going to challenge her and become Warchief in the newest cinematic! Please, guys. Stop rehashing. Please.
The horde is meant to lose this war as you are evil aggressors. Quite simple. Saurfang is just the only way you hordies can pretend to be winners rather than losers.
They're not rehashing Garrosh. They're rehashing Illidan with a mix of Garrosh (simply because she's Warchief).
Anti-hero doing villainous things for what they perceive is the greater good while escaping justice and returning at a later date to save us all.

Good to know the Alliance still sees things as black and white; EVERY Horde member was responsible for Teldrassil, obviously.
Wait, that means EVERY Alliance member was responsible for attempting genocide on the Blood Elves in Warcraft 3!
Sad how this logic goes both ways, isn't it?
two reasons
1) blizzard lacks creative depth and has since half way through cata.
2) Its not going to be like garrosh (TM) this time Garro- i mean sylvanas is going to make a heroic sacrifice to redeem herself. Because she way way to many fan boys within blizzard to have her die like a bad guy.

Anyone who says they should be is ignoring the Lore. Garithos, the Alliance commander in the area at the time and thus the de facto representative of the Alliance (he was, get over it), attempted to murder the remaining blood elves because he was a racist. Period.

Well NOT ONE OF YOU stood up to Sylvanas and told her not to burn Teldrassil!
Even "muh honor" Saurfang stood back as Sylvanas said "Burn it!".
Twice.

So...because the game...doesn't allow us to do something...we didn't do it? Right, I see that logic.
Also, again, "I didn't see any of you standing up to Garithos when he tried to kill the Blood Elves!" Love that both-sides logic, don't you?

Maybe it's to set up for a Horde rebellion against Anduin's puppet "Quisling" Saurfang in the next expansion. That would make a good story.

Yes. That's how roleplaying games work. The gamesmaster - or Blizzard in this case - gets to railroad you if they want to.
You do have an alternative if you want to reject your support for the burning of Teldrassil: faction change to void elf.
we killed illidan and bound his body inside a crystal and sent him to the most heavily secured prison that Azeroth had, that sounds to me like he didn't escape justice, more like we found out years later thanks to some new evidence that we caught the wrong guy.11/13/2018 08:06 AMPosted by Snikrotwhile escaping justice
I hate that we always have to have good vs evil.
I 100% believe that we could have had a really strong, rich expansion, just based off the storyline of "There is limited land and resources, both Horde and Alliance want to gain control and become the de facto powerhouse".
Don't have to bring in genocide and all that nonsense. I mean, I'm pretty sure that when the Void Lords and/or Old Gods rear their heads up even harder, the same thing that always happens is going to happen. The Horde and Alliance are going to have to put their fighting on hold to address the bigger badder mutual evil.
But both factions have so many really cool NPC's. We should have just made this whole xpac as immersive and as much like just a war between two factions as possible. Let a couple race leaders on each side die in battle, let the two factions go blow for blow for an entire xpac before introducing the next big bad.

Yep.
We totally got a chance and weren't written into a corner.
Its like you assume horde players got any narrative choice.
At this point I almost want Anduin to try and genocide something so the alliance hardliners can deal with this.
11/13/2018 10:14 AMPosted by TyraloneConsider you Hordies lucky that the game does give you a choice in 8.1 whether to follow psycho Sylvie or "I am waiting for a good death" Saurfang.
I'm choosing Saurfang, but either one is better than "I need a tissue" Anduin.

I would, but I can't bring myself to play for a faction that has no spine. /shrug
Also, there are plenty of RPGs that do not railroad you: every single game made by BioWare, for example.

See, here's the problem.
All the CURRENT horde? They all either actively helped attack and slaughter Nightelves and burn the tree. Or they sat quiet and let her without response or opposition.
The CURRENT Alliance? Had nothing to do with the attempted Genocide of the Elves in Warcraft 3. Those were the Alliance of Lordaeron troops which have no leadership or involvement with the current Alliance
Your argument is great to use against anyone wanting to blame the current Horde for what the Horde of the First War did, but it's a false analogy the way you use it.
Side note: Yes, you the Horde Player did not get a choice in all of this. I really hope no one with a brain things otherwise (and seriously, claiming you should just pay for a faction change is nonsense).
Honestly when bfa was announced what did people think was likely to happen? I facepalmed and rolled my eyes because it was yet another pointless faction war.
We could have done so much more after legion. After 3 expacs trying to get the factions to unite and stop being idiots blizzard rehashes a faction war...... pathetic.
I had no positive expectations for bfa or inclinations that the story would make any sense. And thus far what i thought would happen has happened.

You mean the alliance of lorderon, who all died.. and became the forsaken.. and are now on the horde.. So the horde are responsable for trying to commit genocide on the Bloodelves, yet you still joined them.. interesting.
I say we kill the entire horde so blizzard can't repeat this again :)
