Why auction house transactions take 1 hour to deliver?

whats the logic behind it ?

They take the longest potty breaks since they’re always standing at their post for hundreds and thousands of hours.

something to do with bots.

it’s been there for a long time.

Probably a good thing right now with all the bots! I was mining and herb gathering in the Waking Shore and, bam, a rogue popping out of the ground and taking the nodes!

If it was quicker, gold farming bots would be even worse.

Great now its Rogues lol
druids are safe lol

Consider it a buffer to prevent gold from moving around too quickly.

The 1 hour gives Blizzard time to investigate why someone is selling 3 linen cloth for 900k gold. Once the purchase is complete, they can chase down the RMT offenders.

That could be a possibility if it didn’t take them 2 days to answer tickets.

Goblins gotta gob.

Lol did you just notice that now ?

does it really matter? like what are you doing that you NEED the gold NOW?

alot of things

GMs/CS has nothing to do with the Hacks team investigations of cheating behavior. Two separate groups.

Don’t even try to act like there are dev teams sitting and waiting to catch gold sellers by monitoring transactions. I know you like your gold veil but nah… don’t do it.

The dev that lays off workers left and right with what appears to be a barebones budget devoting teams to catch gold sellers through the transactions and that is why the hour wait is there? LMAO

No, the game Devs don’t sit around waiting, nor does anyone else. The Hacks team handles cheating in Blizzard games. Real time monitoring is not a thing that I know of. I never said it was. I was pointing out that GMs/CS don’t handle cheating investigations.

Here is an example of the job description for someone on the actual Hacks team.

Not attached to it.

What are you talking about? ATVI did major layoffs. Of those around 200+ were at Blizzard. They did not lay off game Devs or CS. They laid off mostly publishing, esports, Community Management, marketing, etc. Front facing positions that were not part of developing or running the games.

You sound like you are mixing up the job roles that different teams have.

You can read the full list of eliminated positions that were submitted by law at the end of this article.

I think it is just an artifact from the original 1 hour time delay for any mail. That has gradually changed over the years with guild perks and same account mail, but it was the original and I don’t think they changed it. Probably no real good reason at all. Everything is logged and they are certainly not using that hour to real time investigate anything.
