Nope quest log is just a notepad of your quests, you have get the quest and turn it in from either an item or npc, professions have trainers and skill up, lfg is a bulletin board that only posts messages and has a passive role like chat channels, talents are essentially the way you skill up class abilities and from a role playing aspect are reflective of theoretically learning the basics from the teacher and then master the skill from experience. Your looking for gratification, while others look for immersion and escape.

And dual spec is just a button to reset your talent points.
Which as I said already magically just pop up when you get them and you have an interface to set them without even going to an NPC.
So talents open up automatically, but you still have to train ranks on any that are active abilities. Vanilla wow was at its core modeled after the Dungeons and dragons Role playing game and was an attempt to create a virtual open world that used the rng and code to replace dungeon masters and dice. I understand you could care less about the rpg aspects and just want to spam kill collect and strut, but that’s the Retail experience where you never have to walk anywhere cause it’s a lobby of mini games.

If you want to talk RPG aspects, why does it make sense that a trainer can bonk me on the head and I forget all my talents but for some reason he can’t teach me how to forget my own talents?
That makes no RPG sense because there’s no RPG involved with respeccing as is.

Already addressed, Blizzard does not want you to have to use these addons. blizzard has not only stated this in patch notes/in forums over the years - but demonstrated it by changing the game every expansion to integrate addon functionality for things like this into the game, I don’t recall which expansion specifically added which pieces but dual spec solved having to reset your talents and enter them every time, they implemented gear sets into the base UI.
This entire argument is not only about paying 50g to a class. trainer, as that is not even half of the QoL issues that dual spec solved.
You could say that dual spec didn’t even solve the gold problem entirely, as you had to pay 1000g to unlock it. What it did solve, was having to go to your class trainer in azeroth, waste your hearth to get back where you were (or get a summon), re-configure your action bars and re-set up your talents each time.
This by the way did not remove your ability to reset your talents, which still required you to visit a trainer. This was SPEC PROFILES, as I’ve been stating for quite a while, that you completely ignore the validity of.
If your journey through Azeroth/Outlands/Northrend lasts for years, and your trainer can bonk you on the head after 6 months and you forget how to tank but learn to heal, then 6 months later your trainer bonks you on the head again and you forget how to heal but now suddenly remember to tank - how does that work exactly? Right. Talent resets are inherently against the notion of RP, therefore it has no place in these converstaions.

Thing is, I was a neutral party on changes until I started reading the threads on them, It’s sad that you and a few others have chosen to turn what ultimately is a philisophical debate of the effects of a “possibility” of a dual spec feature, into a fascist bully crusade to make the devs give you what you want and your willing to fight anyone who doesn’t 100 percent agree. Your absolutely right about thrashing the list, but as far as countering with evidence and facts you present feelings and judgy tangents of banter. Nuff said buh bye.
