They said they’ll replace the xp bonus with something unique and equally beneficial but they don’t say what that is. My guess is they don’t know yet. Still, I want at least half my gold back I spent upgrading all this gear because that xp bonus was the ONLY reason I did it.

they also need to redo the bags you get after the dungeon
getting a cloak or necklace instead of something good kinda ruins the fun

They’re looking to replace it with something that is not just extra experience that will be equally as beneficial and unique.
I’m trying to fathom anything that would be as equally as beneficial as saving hours and hours of my real life time while leveling alts.
End-game currency rewards attained while leveling might do it? If leveling with heirlooms allowed me to earn Shadowlands Renown while leveling such that when I hit cap I was already nearly completely caught up on the grind, I could dig that.
Again, time is the most important currency when it comes to heirlooms. I spent gold to save time. The only thing as beneficial as my time would be my time.

In the past we had exp heirlooms because there was an enormous amount of grindy levels to power through. It was a catch up for alts.
But with the level squish leveling is significantly faster and shorter on its own, even more so than with this 100% buff. So heirlooms aren’t really needed to speed it up anymore. They’re replacing the exp stat with something else instead, we’ll find out later.

With how quick shadowlands leveling is, you don’t really need the XP boost, hell, just make them equal to epic gear and call it day.

You get gear that scales with you since leveling will be trivial

They’re removing the XP bonus from heirlooms and rolling it into the general leveling experience. From what I gather, it’ll take us the same amount of time to level from 1-50 in SL as it does 110-120 now, depending on the player.
That’s like leveling from 1-110 in a day.
Because they want you to grind more to pay them more subscription money.

it doesn’t matter how fast they make it i bought those heirlooms to go faster not to get their sole purpose deleted

I wonder if leveling achievements will overlap. Post Shadowlands etc.
Then I would like the money I spent getting this for my son. I did not buy that gold just to have what I bought taken away. It’s a stupid change. And What does heirlooms have to do with Visions? WE are talking about Heirlooms not visions.

Turning them into epic gear that you never replace would still accomplish the purpose of making it go faster.
I expected them to remove the XP the minute they announced that leveling would be up to 70% faster.
