This is the answer. Retail appeals to raiders who want to dabble in a few other systems. That is the game.

I have cleared Castle once on Normal.

Roleplaying is still just as fun content. A proper SOCIAL activity where you meet people, make friends, and have no obligation to be at the bleeding edge of gear, skill, or content.

WoW has the best MMO set up with add-ons and setting to help foster an RP community. Even with Final Fantasy XIV’s housing system, I’ve played a little of it, and it looks EXTREMELY dull and almost impossible to find as oppossed to World of Warcraft’s.

Frankly, it doesn’t matter because WoW still dominates the genre. I think SL is a perfectly acceptable expansion (as someone who first started playing very deep into 7.3.5 so I really only have BfA as a fully played expac). I swapped to this character around a month ago and I found the catchup to be significantly faster and easier than it was to maintain alts in BfA. I think Castle Nathria is a decently strong raid (I still think BoD is the best one I’ve played through current content). I think the changes to pathfinder and leveling are good, too. There are still QOL stuff they can fix, but imo this is far from a stinker.

And, as I’ve said, even a stinker expac for WoW is leagues higher than pretty much every other MMO.

The reason why i said my “one-liner” if you wish to call it that is to recognize the ability of liking or disliking something despite what is popular or unpopular, because the person responding to her seems to think that Flexseal wouldn’t make their arguments if only a minority or people like something. That and i’ve already given it enough of my say if you follow back though that comment and see where i’m coming from.

She even bought up the point that there is people do legitimately enjoy it and their opinions are as justified as for those people who disliked it. She has also said that we don’t have the actual metric to go by (Or at least solid and trustworthy enough) that isn’t superdata. Or that isn’t forum likes either.

1. We don’t have actual sub numbers. Neither does whatever 3rd party source claimed the “down 61%” thing or whatever. Doesn’t matter how reliable they typically are, that’s just not data that exists publicly.

2. That said, yes, it’s probably at a low point. I think people were generally tired of the current team’s design philosophy fairly early in BfA, and it hasn’t really changed in Shadowlands. I don’t think the game is in danger of dying just yet, but if 10.0 doesn’t go in a notably different direction, I think the game might start legitimately struggling.

I can agree with that. I’m having fun, but I only started playing in BFA. I couldn’t imagine going thru this constant changing of specs and temporary systems every two years. Stop screwing with classes, get them in line and spend time on things that actually are planned to stick around past one expansion.

FWIW, this is one of those things that’s actually very subjective.

For every person that quits over classes changing in an expansion, there’s another that would have quit if things stagnated.

It’s pretty popular opinion to be annoyed with the temporary systems of the last few expansions though. Not really the fact that they’re changing every expansion, but just the fact that they exist at all. People are wanting permanent additions back.
