Why are you denial of the fact that this has happened during every expansion since cata. The drop off is normal, there’s data to prove it. I’m having fun still, so is my guild and plenty of other guilds on my server. Nobody I know and play wow with regularly has quit.
People defending SL on the forums are probably Blizzard employees.
I had an insane amount of fun the first 3months of this patch, now im just makin new toons.
Alt grinding is usually my go to “done with content” way to play WoW
eyes you suspiciously…
You’re not a…GT lover are you?
no I get it, you’re reppin the yamcha love eh?
We have differing opinions. While Tanaan Jungle wasn’t the most interesting content the game put out, it certainly felt better than Shadowlands currently does. The only other expansion I disliked as much as Shadowlands was Cataclysm.
Only gripe I had about WoD, aside from their whole “we don’t want you to play demonology” statement, was the huge lulls in content. Those lulls were legitimately 4 months long, lol. Except the 13 month long final raid tier, which wasn’t historically their longest raid tier.
We’re realistically looking at a 7-month long initial patch right now if 9.1 drops in June, which according to Towelie’s inside source (which, I hope is wrong) is a very unlikely goal.
This expansion is certainly setting records, but it’s not looking like they’re very good ones outside of the initial sales.
There is nothing wrong with asking for change, saying you don’t like the system as its become. Freedom, it doesn’t mean conform or get out but it does mean you can freely have opinions and disagree with the things around you. I live in a free country, if I want change I have a right to disagree with absolutely everyone else in the country with no fear of being punished for it, I won’t win against the majority but I am free to be different and have different ideas. Funny on an american based game how many are against such ideas! The “shut up and go away” bunch really must be against freedom, I guess they have a right to hate freedom, it is a freedom they seem to enjoy
le sigh to this nonsense
I’m not defending Blizzard. No way. They screwed up with some methods such as anima.
However, I do enjoyed some things in SL such as Theotar storyline, Marileth storyline, puzzles, Revendreth and their snobby attitudes, and working on achievements in Halls of Atonement [open world].
I think there will be a surge as well when TBC goes live. I am looking forward to TBC. But I am not even going to try to play for the first few days. Hellfire, and the Blood Elf starting zone are going to be packed. Wont be able to get anything done.
Exactly. It had a good start, but now the honeymoon period is over its glaring issues and missed marks are extremely obvious.
I think it can be saved because it does have the makings of an amazing expansion - but if its next patch is still 4 months away I fear that will be too little too late.
It’s one thing to enjoy playing what you like. It’s another to be completely delusional.
What is delusional is thinking you have any insight into anyone else’s enjoyment.
Enjoyment:
I love doing Mythic+ dungeons. They are a ton of fun. The affixes keep things fresh and interesting each week. Castle Nathria is also one my favorite raids so far. I know there are other players who don’t enjoy the endgame content that Shadowlands has to offer, but for me personally, I’m having a blast!
Delusion:
Shadowlands is hands down the most successful expansion Blizzard has made to date! There’s tons more people playing retail now than ever before. There’s more and more new players coming to WoW each day. Good job Blizzard!
i wish more people would realize SL is absolute garbage and has been since launch, it is the most unrewarding, soulless expansion to date with easily the worst end game grinding, timing gating and RNG yet.
…except it doesn’t have grinding. It took the grinding (artifact power, azerite power) and removed it.
And that data was current months ago. Since then there has been no reason to imagine there’s been a surge in subscriptions or playtime. Likely whatever trend then is continuing.
and yet… here you are.
Actually, what you’ve said previously is that they made the casual content you used to feel obligated to do pointless and unnecessary. So if you are deliriously happy doing Torghast and anima and feel they are highly rewarding and exciting, you’re in a minority. Most people feel they are a grind.
Hello old thread. So happy to see you. Always making the rounds.
See you next xpac.
No no its not they are simps and would buy a bag of poo if blizz told them it was gold. If you accept poo you will be served poo this is what happens when you forsake standards.
