Why are you giving away the few "special" things that loyal players have in WoW?

Still doesn’t make it right. But it is what it is.

No. No reason to have anything “exclusive” anymore. Itss because you have a big ego that needs validation you were important to the company because they gave you a limited time item. Get over it, its virtual pixels. They are worth nothing.

Alright, maybe i’m way off the mark but I am completely convinced that at the heart of this issue… Is that people are realizing they did not need to spend so much time in this game, and that is freaking them out.

That whole cost sunk fallacy rearing its ugly head

They own all those items and reintroduce them into the game. They can give everyone clearing normal raids CE titles if they felt like. It’s blizzards property, not yours. Regardless of how its earned.

Here’s another scenario:

You have people introducing their kids to a game that were born before, or near, or in 2008. I find it pretty cool that someone can look at their kids and say “I grabbed this in 2008, it’s cool you can get one too.”

me looking at what the heck Blizzard did to the Centaurs
It sure does…

Love the beard, btw.

They could have just put the entire TCG mount collection into the BMAH rotation but give them a 10,000,000g min bid, it would have stimulated a crapload of token sales which is money in Blizzards pocket too, they really must have a pretty decent deal with Twitch, because there has to be some money in it for Blizzard to have gone that way instead of sorting out some other in-game mechanic.

This is probably one of the strongest arguments that can be made. The game is approaching 20 years old now and holding the “you weren’t there get over it!” cloud over players who may not have even been born at the time is a really uncool thing to do.

I’m fine with this as long as we take this all the way. Gladiator mounts, glad titles, elite tmogs, of the black harvest title, WOD challenge mode sets. All on the Trading Post. Lets do it. Lets get ridiculous

Can still hope lol. After over a decade, farming it on 25+ characters with the worst RNG luck of probably any player lmao!

It’s not just uncool… It’s kind of sad. It’s based in the ego. Your self worth shouldn’t come from how much toys you collected.

I disagree. Those things were meant for those players, now they need to learn to create those kind of memories for new players. The way to do that is not to reuse or undervalue something else.

Your memories are still your memories…

I’m talking about the “kid” in this scenario. Well of course your memories are still your memories. I’m speaking along the lines of creating just as GOOD as a memory for new players and older players. This won’t happen by rehashing the same things from the past.

At 1.7% drop rate, Ashes of Al’ar is not an unusually rare mount. After all these years, anybody who doesn’t have it wasn’t trying.

And they will make their own with what’s in the game.

We are in a throwback culture. It happens in fashion it happens in product and now it’s happening in electronic items.

The game is going on 18 years this year. Its got players who in theory were not able to play the game at this time. For the mount raged on…that 20 year old player was 8 years old the first time.

FOMO setups don’t work as well in games reaching 2 decades imo. its more for say bordelands like games. you know those SP with game will “die” 5 years later. It’s player base is mostly new players who saw a killer steam sale deal 5 years later lol.

So the FOMO items from events past while still the hot game of the time are fine. Most who have them…stopped playing anyway.

Or… use the commonly used gibbed editor. BL3’s items are all in the game code. PLug that code into gibbed editor and voila…that FOMO 1 time item from an event years ago…is in inventory.

Now there is another way. It not be liked though. I am fan of the idea of unlocks in classic…apply to retail. Classic was played in this case. Just in 2023 and not 2008/9 in the case of of say wrath.

But…the redo’s aren’t even doing OG setups. Classic doesn’t even have RAF. So for the soon to depart RAF mount…classic could not even get that. We don’t get RAF which was a wrath feature lol. We probably won’t see RAF for the expacs to come, if they come, either.

I am well aware this crossover puts some nice wood on some bonfires that flames up real well however. Its not liked classic side either, some have asked before lol.

That’s actually a really interesting idea. I’d probably still play a little HS if earning gold and buying booster packs had a chance to give WoW stuff.

Okay, so lets not reintroduce old things then. Create something new.

We are in repeat culture. It’s like creativity has died.

I mean, let’s not pretend like because they release a handful of items that everything else in the game wasn’t new.
