Why are you afraid to play a healer or a tank

I feel like we’re the same person right now. Although o never climbed that high in keys. I’ve also started playing lock mostly and given up the stressful roles in group content. I only do normal pug raid once a week and some delves. Someone told me they made healers take more damage in delves which means running them solo as a healer is not fun

It’s so weird how things develop. I got a shield drop from Zekvir in a delve, and that is what is making me contemplate tanking. It’s a nice shield.

We aren’t afraid, we just don’t want to deal with how you treat us, we play this game to relax, not be abused by other players.

Fear of failing for most people or the increased responsibility. I also see a lot people mention routes as tank but you follow the tank as dps and healer every single time, they should know the route by now.

I would like to play dps but as 99% of the playerbase already does I just stick with tanks and healers

i quit tww but played dragonflight, healer isnt that hard, the main reason some people might find it hard is when you have garbage team mates
when you have both good and bad dps in a pug you can notice how you have to basically ignore everyone else but focus on the ‘‘special’’ guy…

but besides that healing is so chill

sometimes sht happens too, players make mistakes, and sometimes if you act fast enough you can save them, if you dont, well, always bring a class with a brezz

I tanked for years…I healed for years.

Both roles are extremely under appreciated. Particularly these days. If you aren’t going 100moh you’re bad and if you wanna go 100mph you’re bad. Everyone ignores mechanics and there’s no incentive to make the game harder for yourself. There is just no middle ground unless you run with the same people all the time.

Particularly healing. Tanking is pretty easy in most cases but healing for these ridiculous pulls is absolutely horrible if you aren’t totally keyed in. The stress levels of playing a healer are extremely high compared to literally everything else in the game.

This is my newest toon. I’ll never go back to tanking or healing. Just slamming my keyboard with absolutely no regard to anything but those pretty numbers is about a bazillion times more fun and rewarding than tanking and healing combined…

If it wasn’t for the speed and silliness of the game I’d still be healing but it’s gotten to be nothing but a full on sweaty sprint for almost 100% of content.

So yea, content too fast and stressful to do it all the time for healing. Tanking is legitimately boring particularly when leveling or farming. It’s basically watching paint dry. The middle (dps) is just fun and it can be as fast paced as you want it to be. You don’t have to sweat and you can enjoy dodging mechanics and making plays. You’re not just locked into a very single minded play style. You can also make mistakes as dps whereas if you mess up as a tank or healer it’s usually an instant problem.

The game is too fast for healers and not rewarding enough for tanks. I could go on but that’s it in a nutshell.

I feel this season is pretty fun. Are you ramping before that predictable damage comes out?

I have lots of tanks and a healer. I only use them in groups with my friends. I never PUG on them, too many toxic people I ran into in PUGs over the years when I did do them. I am not afraid of either role, I simply choose not to risk ruining my leisure time.

This resonated way too hard with me.

Though, once you go healer in M+, you never really undo it. Those eyes are always darting to health bars whether you like it or not. Dangerously to the point you waste your holy power on heals rather than your self defensives. That’s you as a bad DPS/tank paladin but that’s also an indicator of how hard healing consumes you in M+.

I think I’m personally tired of watching bars all round. Combat and health both.

Healing in TWW isn’t the same as there is a lot of AOE going on and tanks also have less self sufficiency for healing. Gone are the days of just focusing on 1 or 2 bad players who don’t notice mechanics.

Yeah, like it awesome in keys, but your other two DPS has to be awesome as well.

Fear has nothing to do with it. Healing is basically whack a mole and tanking is unwarranted stress in something that is supposed to be fun.

I have both tanked and healed, and was pretty good at both, although much better at taking than healing, truth be told. Both are the crappiest jobs in WoW, especially in pugs. The reason for that is the type of players that play WoW, most especially in the past several years.

That gogogo mentality and selfish you’re here for me attitude both have to go. ActiBlizz hasn’t helped either, they continually try to streamline instances to cater to this mentality and attitude. Hell, they might as well just make instances in a straight line from beginning to end with no mechanics whatsoever because what it always boils down to is gathering a group of mobs and AOEing them down as quickly as possible. Seriously, when was the last time someone HAD to CC a mob to avoid a wipe? When was the last time someone had to do an LOS pull to avoid more trouble or a wipe?

Go back to classic and run those instances as they used to be, those were interesting and fun. This lazy instance design nowadays is straight garbage.

Semper Fi! :us: :ukraine:

I’m a big fan of Era, but nobody is using CC there either.

And the 4ish boss hallway dungeon “design” started in TBC. It’s not a retail thing.

Them adding megadungeons from Legion through now is more aligned with vanilla then TBC thru WoD (except Halls of Origination)

Too much work for too little reward.

Is this some distorted reality you created?

Was my initial post to you, not the one you quoted.

So your saying that is not snarky?

It was directly followed by asking you directly what the changes were and explaining how you being a tank in the past doesn’t explain anything about the changes you are trying to argue. There’s something called context. I asked you a very basic question which you could have answered to support your stance with facts, but instead you deflected.

Let’s not forget that you specifically quoted

As the post you thought was snarky that came after yours.

I don’t mind healing, and I don’t mind the backlash I get for making mistakes. I enjoy conflict

Meh, everyone is a know it all… = toxic
