Why are WoW Tokens so much right now?

Haven’t seen them at 250k or lower like this entire month.

:mouse_trap:

Nobody is buying them for gold.

That is the opposite of how it works.

Legit question though.

Prices always rise in a content drought for retail tokens. S4 is historically slow in wow expansion life cycles, it will adjust when tww launches.

When Season 4 launched they moved up to around 300k a piece. Just before the launch of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Re-mix, they had just started to come down in price to around 252k. Once Re-mix went live, they escalated back up to current price between 300-305k a pop. People are paying for carriers from the people that got in early on the increased power gains from the hyper-spawns.

What are you talking about?
We are not in a content drought, nor do the prices rise with droughts.

The prices have risen because there is so much to do with your sub.
SoD. Cata. Remix. Season 4. And now Beta.

Take one for the team and buy some tokens to drop the price. If not, we aren’t walking atm’s to feed people with free game time. The price should be even higher imo.

What do I need gold for?

It’s been mentioned several times here on the forums. The law of supply and demand.

If supply exceeds demand, prices will drop. If vice versa, prices will rise.

Hardly takes any study in marketing.

It kind of does, if no one is buying for gold, the price goes up. If more players are buying for gold, the price goes down.

This has zero to do with how Tokens work. Tokens are player dependant. Please stop giving misinformation.

Sorry, it’s my fault.

The price of tokens has always been roughly equivalent to the amount of gold I have on my main, so I can never afford one. I have a little more than usual right now, so it’s more expensive.

I just server transferred a Mage to pick up a pair of BoE shoulders for my Remix Mage’s transmog. Because I’m insane.

Ok, yeah. That’s insane. But you used gold. So less Insane…

I mean… kinda? I had transfers and name changes sitting on my account from an old sale in the shop. LOL

Oooooo… That’s not really that bad of idea though.

Yeah, I stocked up when they were cheap.

I meant what I typed. In retail, we are in s4, a recap season that adds nothing new to the game other than ilvl on the same content from the last year and a half. This is a content drought, for retail. And in every prior end of expansion drought, token prices went up.

The wow token price is the gold value it takes to convince someone to pay 20 dollars to the blizz bank, when that value is super high it just means demand for gold is low. You may make the claim that there is demand for gold in retail for whatever reasons, but the price will reflect reality.

I should have, but I ended up buying gold when it was hitting that 300k mark.
