Maybe it’s because I main a clothie but I collect transmog on all armor types, too. Still… is it just me, or are shoes sometimes the hardest armor piece to 1) get in a matching color, 2) get in a matching style (troll, elven, tauren, etc.), and 3) look awesome on your character model.
Alrighty, who is it? The one with all the shoes? Fess up and share your collection or your misery of collecting the perfect transmog pieces.
(Also, my solution to this dilemma lately has to have more and more of my characters go canonically shoe-less, especially for cultures where it’s normalized.)

I experienced the same surprise when I rolled gnome and opened my shoe appearances tab to discover the horror of warped gnome feet overstuffed in shoes.

I can’t really roleplay my character properly until he is allowed to wear Crocs with those little badge decorations you stick in the holes

Tauren really just have hoof warmers with different trim at the top. Even though Kina escapes the HUGE plate clown shoes, they still make it hard to match or even blend them when you aren’t using a whole matched set.

This has always been a pet peeve of mine. There’s an older style of mail boot that has a wide flap up on the calf and then narrows to ridiculous proportions on female Blood Elves. They look more like knee-high socks under capri pants than a pair of boots. They’re perfectly normal on other races and even male Blood Elves. But on female belves they just look bizarre.

This part of the reason I like Pandaren and Worgen. Half the time I can just hide the feet slot, and it still looks ok.

Just once I’d like them to design boots based on the shorter races and then force the taller ones to realize just how horrible things can look.

I mean, boots on Gobs and Gnomes is kinda mid, but there can be some good fits out there if you look. Tauren, Trolls, Worgen and Draenei definitely got the rough end of the pineapple in the boots department, however, barring a few leather and plate models that cover paws and hooves, or add talons or other features.

I am fine with my Zanda’s boots. I rather like running around barefoot. Alot of my non trolls run barefoot alot. I also can sympathize with the gobbos woes. My gob can hardly find shoes that aren’t a joke. Undead aren’t too bad, but there’s barely any boots that can survive these toe-fangs!

Same for me with some pieces. However, every so often it doesn’t work. I don’t know if it’s a plate thing or not, and I think it’s mostly on older pieces, but sometimes the legs stop short. I assume that was because the big a** boat boot cuff was supposed to cover the area from the knee to the ankle. So without the mega cuffed hoof warmer, it doesn’t look finished.

Any footwear that doesn’t accentuate my stunning calves is inherently oppressive.

I main Draenei so I default to using the murloc suit feet now.
Dracthyr can’t wear shoes so I just make em naked
A part of my mind just whispered “Cloth shoes look bad in this game because Void Priests need their grippy socks.” and I’m just sitting here trying to process why am I like this?

What I would give for Blizzard to add in proper thigh-high boots or leggings.

It’s a problem more with my male characters due to foot wear being more exposed. Females characters tend to be dressed more conversative (dress covering whole upper and lower) so black dress shoes if I can not find a pair to match xmog.
When WoW 2.0 is fully integrated after Titan expansion, all of the old coding and systems will have been replaced allowing greater fidelity in rendering for newer items along with much of the oldest content being modernized. WoW 2.0 will be on par with Dragonflight and War Within, and Shadowlands which all runs under the newest upgrades.
Lady Inerva Darkvein in Castle Nathria’s thigh-high heels are awesome and I one day hope to have them.
Also, sometimes shoes that look horrid on one character look amazing on a gnome/goblin/vulpera. It all just depends on whether the squishing makes them cooler or sillier.
lol as a void elf main who literally wrote this post because I got so tired of grippy sock transmogs wtf
Cackling in the rotten undead style flesh option.
Everything looks broken, the few chunky boots and select shoe options were / are mandatory.
Speaking of mandatory, remember when every Forsaken player just had to show off their spinal cords to the point that they made cut outs for them.
