Why are we still limited to 2 Professions?

How can I possibly fulfill my Earthen fantasy,
without be ability to mine, blacksmith, jewel-craft AND engineer.

Unlike you?

I don’t think Blizzard will ever change the 2 profession limitation. They want you to stay “engaged” and with engaged they mean leveling a lot of alts.

Gathering professions should be like secondary professions

I think we should be able to do them all but instead they want you to make a bunch of alts if you want to do them all which is annoying to do.

Make 2 Earthen. Problem solved. Build a story around them.

From what I gathered of the story your people don’t want to work anymore so…
Idk, you tell me.

I think it would be cool if we still had our two primary professions, but then we could take all of the other professions as secondaries, but trimmed down versions of them, none of the major perks or ability to craft yourself high level gear or whatever, just the basics.

Still say that they need to copy Guild Wars 2 and make herbalism, skinning, and mining secondary professions so everyone can use all three and two crafting skills. Although if they did copy GW2 then they’d probably wanna sell bonus profession slots too as you can have a character I think have every crafting skill at one time in GW2, but I could be wrong on that. Really need to make the gathering skills secondary since they’re now making Herbalism stuff and mining stuff big key parts of some tailoring and enchanting recipes. I mean hey great I could have my miner and herbalist throw those in the warband bank but I kinda went crazy and at least one or more whole tab(s) is DF stuff and I may need to save up 500k gold for a new tab as to not deny my alts going through DF of those free resources

Create alts. Problem solved.

I already got alts I just need to make my lower ones eat up a ton of the DF stuff to make room for TWW things

You can buy more profession slots in GW2, so yes you can have one toon with all the professions. Just most people don’t because it gets expensive and since most people have alts they just break it up across their toons.

it would be great to have the freedom of having all professions without penalties

please all professions one char

Idc about that too much but why are secondary professions not account wide yet?

they need to make gathering profs SECONDARY so we have two REAL professions to work with.

some professions like tailoring dont even really have a gathering profession that it needs. Kinda unbalanced that if I have leatherworking instead I’m kinda gonna want to take skinning…but tailors just have more cloth drop if they take tailoring.
I know they do because I got pretty much no cloth drops…took tailoring and cloth was falling from the sky when I was killing the same crap.

When leather, ore and herbs start dropping off my kills, then that might be a fair scenario.

Just make gathering secondary, that will be a huge help.

yeah…I know…Im putting that smartmouth above on ignore right now myself

I like this. 2 crafting professions and 2 gathering professions per character! Or combined some.

Although, some are kind of combo professions right now, like tailoring allows for gathering cloth…but leather working still depends on skinning…so that could be combined into one profession and they drop skinning.

They went even further this time and made it so cloth from humanoids only drops for tailors, so unless you have the profession you get none (from mobs).

Easily skinning could be the same way incorporated into leather working, and herbs with alchemy; mining with black smithing, etc. maybe that’s next for them.

Alt army X all professions X compulsion to fill all the bars … I wouldn’t survive.

That was true for DF, where tailors mostly needed cloth and stuff from elementals only.

But in TWW Blizzard went back to the old tailoring pattern from old expacs, where you need enchanting dust and crystals to create higher quality cloth.
So here disenchanting can be considered to be the gathering profession for tailoring.
