…see that friends list empty…with two or three people who I have no idea who they are…my best friends disconnected, with the information “connected 1/2/3 years ago”… …
…little by little my eyes become more closed…my face with a bored expression, with dark circles under my eyes…bedtime approaching and that good feeling that I once had…never being achieved again…

I mean, maybe there is a double-meaning tied to the story, but it seems pretty clear it refers to being “within” the earth. As in, underground.
