Why are warrior runes so boring?!

Blinkz i’ve argued with you on another thread. Your takes are so bad, please just leave and let us reasonable people discuss.
“It’s your fault you picked the adventurer archerype” … What did they put in your mana drink?

stalker much. Must be a rogue arch type

They said that before phase 2 also but everyone else runes was so strong were still … middle of the pack !!

Both shaman specs is better then warriors so are 5 others specs.

warriors are the basic bi*** pumpkin spice lattes of wow. Their class fantasy is “I hit things hard” Theres nothing more boring in wow than humans, warriors and human warriors.

Says the literal cow on a faction of basics outside of orcs. Orcs at least built a city. Cow man lives in a tent, broken rogue race lives in sewers of hand me down alliance city, and stoner trolls living on an island. Shaman/Locks/Wars are the only based classes for a respectable horde roller. Druid man child mad sigma warrior picker mogs him all day while he shape shifts from a literal cow to a cat and bear (they all smell as bad as they look). Tauren warriors are the only taurens that diserve respect. Barbian/warriors are crux to all fantasy games, cope and seethe. You literally moo at the enemy and scratch them with your cat claws lel

because warrior is a boring class, what do you expect? it’s the most common mainstream sword/board or 2h melee character in EVERY GAME AND MOVIE FOR OVER A THOUSAND YEARS

not much you can do to make warrior runes seem fun or skills, it’s just a warrior…it’s not a magical class it’s not a hybrid, it’s not interesting at all, its a warrior…

So devs are just uninspired?

There was even a meme to give them a reskinned death grip. Make it look like the hooks abominations use.

What about a rune called “juggernaut” that drastically reduces movement speed but gives them a truckload of armor/resists?

Its 5 am and I’ve been up for 30 minutes, you telling me a team of full time paid devs can’t think of anything?

I can’t believe a real person actually took the time to write that out and then somehow came to the decision to hit post

I have a priest/hunter/mage/shaman at lvl 40, druid/rogue/warlock around between lvl 25-30.

The runes are so boring for warrior I just can’t be bothered. Every single other class had a “wow that looks awesome, i really want to try it” rune.

Warriors got “here’s some wrath and cata abilities… no not those ones the boring ones”.

I think my class fantasy of being so extremely dedicated to the art of warring and weaponry that my sheer physical prowess alone puts me level with the magicians who can alter the fabric of reality itself is waaay cooler than your class fantasy of liking animals a little too much.

I’m serious though. Warcraft has always done warriors dirty. “hit this training dummy and your rune is done” I mean really. Warriors are boring because blizzard designed a very boring class and then always makes it’s class-specific things boring.

Warrior in ffxiv is the complete opposite.

Barbarians in D&D are also the complete opposite.

Those are examples of how you make warrior interesting

As someone that has played a warrior for legitimately decades, i have to ask.

What did you expect? What, you want a rune that gives you Kaioken or lets you fling a Spirit Bomb or something? Wanna fly thru the air like Superman with a cape and your fist out n everything? Legitimately what are you after here. Warbringer ALONE is such a massive power boost when used right that id be fine with JUST that.

Go on, tell me what your better ideas are for runes. I actually wanna hear this.

You are not Goku. You are not Naruto. You are Conan. You hit things really, REALLY hard and your best outcome is to die bloody and thrashing in the heat of battle, surrounded by and drenched in the remains of your enemies.

Warriors in the lore are pretty cool.

Varian Wrynn was so good at fighting he was favoured by a Wild God, Marshal Windsor fought off a small army of Dark Iron dwarves, Saurfang is reliably epic, Gromash killed Mannaroth twice, and Broxigar is (afaik) the only mortal to land a blow on Sargeras.

The Warriors of Lore are absolute juggernauts. The Warriors in game are about as frail as they come, and are almost entirely reliant on other people to do any damage.

Give me a rune that increases my maximum health by a percentage of the damage I do to bleeding targets.

Give me a run that makes my next ability strike twice.

Give me a set of runes that give me shouts, drums or banners to buff me and my allies.

There are a lot of things that are more interesting than flat damage increases tied to bloodrage or berserker rage.

Rallying Cry & Commanding Shout exist, as do the Buff/Debuff shouts (Battle/Demo/Intim). Sword Spec is a stronger version of what your asking and exists.

Max life based on bleed damage is a bit excessive, i can see that being broken real fast. If youd said life leech based off bleeds maybe.

Varian Wrynn was closer to a Shaman/Warrior Hybrid (ironically just like Thrall) than a Warrior. If you wanted a good example, you shouldve used Varok Saurfang. Know what Varok’s defining trait was?

Overwhelming power, to the point of his Cleave being a meme for literal years. Hit anyone he felt like hitting really, REALLY hard.

Classic, TBC, and Wrath warriors were the best iteration of warriors Blizzard did, personally I ended up quitting warrior in Cata because of how they changed it. Why mess up a good thing?

I came back from time to time to play in later expansions and it was absolutely terrible to play a warrior. I hated how they played.

legitimately I’d play this. It’d look hella fun.

Accidentally target the boss and heal it to full, fun times.

Rogue tanks’ll be doing something similar, 13/28 so we can snag IEA.

Not that it’ll matter. there’s only like 2 dozen of us.

only a paladin would think glad stance is a good thing :expressionless:

I will never understand why people think that because they don’t like a thing, no one else could reasonably like it either.

I don’t have any interest in gladiator stance, but I know that plenty of people have clearly indicated that they want it over the years.

Just let people enjoy things.

the problem is shoving glad stance in classic is just silly and destined to be a meme/underpowered/etc. :expressionless: for one thing, shield slam doesn’t scale in classic. if you are experienced with warriors, you would know the whole thing is silly.
