I don’t understand what I can do to help, I look at the maps and run over there to help out but there doesn’t seem to be any strategy involved. Sometimes alli wins and sometimes horde but I can’t tell why. I watch people like Paraglasses and others and they just seem to jump around and kill people but it all seems so random. Is everyone using discord but me ? Should I be in a guild group ?
It’s 10-15 people randomly thrown together verse another team of 10-15 people randomly thrown together.
Your team comp is better/worse than theirs.
Your team has players in worse/better gear.
Your team isn’t vocal. Sometimes they call incs out well in advance.
Sometimes the people you’re with don’t care about the win or loss, they just want the kills. That’s the case with Para, I watch him too. He just enjoys the PVP combat aspect. “Mid fighting” so to speak. It’s what I enjoy also.
If you really want the win you’re best off doing the objectives yourself. Grabbing the flag, or defending a base. They’re just boring tasks so many don’t do it.
When you factor in all the factors, it actually makes sense that it’s almost like a coin flip, a 50/50.
Thanks, you pretty much verified what I was thinking, ok so I just won’t take it to seriously and just have some fun lol
and sometimes its not even always people! lol
IMO, they need to prune down the bg’s and refine them. Some of them are just not good(looking at you, seething shore). And having a few great choices is better than a bunch of “meh” choices.
The game rewards the player who burns a flag and runs off leaving it undefended to fight in the road, or worse, defended solo by a healer.
If you’ve ever watched little tykes play hockey or soccer or something and they’re falling all over the field, running in random directions, crying, scoring on the wrong net, etc.
Pretty much the same thing for similar reasons.
I think every player should have a “rating” which would be used to balance teams by the matchmaking algorithm. This rating would only be viewable by that player.
mercenary mode, win trading, simultaneous VOIP queues, random group comps, no rating protection so you get placed with skilled players and complete morons.
when you got a shot caller in voice or chat calling out targets to ‘hit squads’ your team is going to do better than solo players randomly trying to decide.
to make war you need to be able to do 3 things.
- Shoot
- Move
- Communicate
Take any of these away from your enemy and they will lose.
This will not solve the problem. It creates a new one – “smurfing”
MMR for random BGs just massively increase queue times.
I’d rather that then 15 mins of being someone else’s punching bag.
That’s what rated bgs, and soon to be queued rated battleground blitz are for. Random bg can stay as it is, an unrated muck about mode.
No matter how good matchmaking is there’ll always be games that are lopsided for one reason or another. Anyways, the purpose of matchmaking is to get people to where they’re comfortably winning roughly half of their games.
