When half the legendaries they’re introducing aren’t even in the game.
Because legendary gear is not relevant to boss mechanics. Although, I am sure they will eventually test them together once all the legendaries are added to the PTR
Because that’s a dps issue, a raid test is to test the raids mechanics.
Would be nice to know what the classes are going to look like before the raid is finished. I would argue class balance should happen before they start making a raid. That way people aren’t cheesing mechanics (SEE BALANCE OF ALL THINGS)
Pretty sure they happen at the same time.
I guess this patch prob isn’t coming out till sept at the soonest anyway
I have no idea. It’s already on the PTR, so things are moving along.
That only means they will never release the raid ![]()
Because testing each individual module to ensure it has no issues and then test it overall is way better than waiting for everything to be ready and test it when it’s the last minute.
So you guys want them to introduce half the new legendaries and do legendary balance for those after the raid is finished?
See Software Development works in terms of modules and separate codebases which tie in to form a Giant Piece of Software.
Raiding is one part, Classes are one, Legendaries are another while Covenants are yet another piece.
It’s not wrong to put all of them together and test them. But it would be easier to iron out some basic bugs by testing them individually and then testing them in the context of everything else.
That way, you know your module is perfect by itself and you don’t need to worry about issues from within. The only issues you need to worry are those which arise from mixing stuff which would make focusing and fixing them better and easier.
Ideally you would want everything tested at the same time.
Once raid testing is finished, people aren’t going to want to continue raid testing with each and every legendary after they’ve already done it.
This is going to create a balancing disaster, and is an inefficient way to handle things.
Test everything at the same time, not random bits and pieces and try and piece it together.
Yes but since the codebase and the modules themselves are big, you would want to make your job as easy as possible by fixing bugs which have nothing to do with other modules.
Your workload is way lesser when you mix them and encounter new issues.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see which legendary slips through the cracks :X
Given that Legendaries are sometimes scaled too high or too low, I doubt they will be perfect.
Because they are testing that the boss itself even works.
And this folks is why most people should never get a beta key or test things like a raid
If you guys want 9.1 out sooner than help raid test.
Nah. Let them spend their money for once, hire more people and do testing instead of making us pay to test for them.
I didnt know a legendary is required to play-test a boss fight
