That’s exactly why it’s there, to waste your time. Learn where these nodes are then just skip them.

I’ve always assumed a few buried nodes are scattered around as honeypots (“if you can successfully mine this, you’re map-hacking”) or custom bot-traps (“yes there’s a node there, nope, you can’t actually mine it, yes it’s still there, nope you can’t mine it …”.

Right or wrong, these notions make me feel better than to imagine they never notice/fix them.
