Why are there so many clones of sprint in the game?

The rogue’s sprint, and the other shorter sprints,
The druid’s sprint and their other sprint that is AoE,
The paladin’s horse,
The warriors sprint after jumping,
The hunter’s sprint after jumping,
The priest’s 2 sprints, one targeted and one casted at a zone,
Monk’s 2 or 3 sprints after using some ability,
Shaman’s sprint and their sprint totem,

The point is, there are only very few unique sprint variants, one of them being the deathknights’ where they basically do Leoric’s move from HOTS-- it’s different, it’s unique, it’s interesting, it looks like something else instead of being just a different color of a sprint trace behind you (this is the only difference between druids and rogues sprints).

And druid’s sprint is the reason why i am writing this post. There is a Choice node in the druids talent tree where you have to choose between wild charge and tiger dash. If you choose tiger dash, you can no longer use the normal sprint. I dont see much of a reason to play tiger dash ever and i extremely rarely see someone play it, which is a shame because it’s one of the only original sprint variants out there.

I would love to see druid’s normal dash deleted from the game and replaced with tiger dash. It’s an original idea, really cool, really thematic, actually has a skill curve (you should jump to maximize the average speed) )and it’s sitting there gathering dust unused. It’s not right. Let’s add a little more class identity to the game.

I know that some people are going to comment that the reason tigers dash isnt used is because its competing with wild charge and i agree completely but the point of this post is not to stop the wild charge, tiger dash competition by separating them, but to further diferentiate druid from rogue and all others with a sprint by deleting the generic ruin that is dash, the normal green druid sprint. I dont oppose separating wild charge from tiger dash to test democratically if people choose to take tiger dash instead of normal dash, that might be the more conservative idea and i like it.

yes this is called “class homogenization” :expressionless: go deep enough with the expacs and all classes are pretty much the same

I know exactly what you mean but please stay on topic.

This sounds like a retail thread so you might have actually posted this in the wrong subforum. This one is typically for the Vanilla versions of the game (Era/Anniversary and their HC variants). You might consider moving your post, which I believe you can do by editing your OP and changing the subforum in the drop down near the title

Again, I thiiiiiink this is retail? I mained a Resto Druid but I stopped playing mid Dragonflight. I vaguely remember this but always took Wild Charge because it would let me quickly move to someone else during combat. This was super useful in M+ but in general I found it to be more robust. I think Tiger Dash was good though for general speediness, and those kinds of choices are typically what the Retail talent trees want you to make… choosing between one kind of flavour or another.

That’s not really a bad thing, but the Retail talent trees are very large. There’s always going to be talents where the choice isn’t really all that great because one outweighs another. That’s something for the game designers to address, to be sure, but it’s how things go.

If you have some ideas on how to make Tiger Dash better, you could probably start a thread in one of the retail forums (druid subforum or general discussion). It’s always good to advocate for better balance on that stream of the game, imho.

Good luck

This is definitely a retail post but it all has to do with arenas dude.

Yeah, thank you. I didnt notice. Changed the topic to the correct one now.

Before we know it, every class will have every tool because players cry when one class has a tool that another doesn’t. Monk stole our port spell , stop placing your port on mine!

Pretty much every spec has a toolkit to deal with every possible situation. Only the icon and name of the spell and perhaps duration or cooldown are different. Everyone wants to be viable and part of the meta so it has led to this.

I miss my cat teleport

Displacer Beast was one of my favourite talents. I still miss it

how can a druid teleport :expressionless:

Don’t forget the worgen racial sprint!

You clearly don’t know my cat. One moment he’s on the couch and the next he’s in my lap at my desk.

i’d rather it be a sprint instead of a channel, tbh
people want to move fast, you can’t really dress it up too foreign or it becomes obfuscated and complicated for the sake of being complicated

In regards to general cat behaviour, can confirm! :joy_cat:
