I intentionally pull back damage when a tank says that they’re learning in order to slow the pace. I should get a cookie for my kindness and consideration.
I really wish there was a way to group people… a way to prevent OP people from joining dungeons that they’re way overqualified for and who can just solo the whole dungeon. I know that for some prime it’s not fun to play with people like that.
That’s how I now think that about healing. I wish I didn’t but, – it’s been since Legion. Hard to go back. I just don’t want to be yelled at, shamed, … I was a pretty good healer for the most part. But, to me ‘heals’ get blamed as the last resort for any fails and just became to stressful. EVERY expac the rules change, learn it all over again, often ‘spec adjustments’. But I use to love healing.
I agree, this is a more “if we’re to implement this, it’s only fit for affixes”, as if it was a mechanic it would be an absurdly rng/impossible mechanic or an absurdly easy mechanic.
Which always translates to: it’s the healer’s job. Because DPS cannot ever be bothered to lift a finger off their rotational buttons, look at someone else’s healthbar, or know a single thing about what their class can do.
So just knock everything down to that lowest common denominator, screw it. No critical interrupts, no utility at all, no defensives, delete tanks and healers entirely, just faceroll forever for everybody. We can’t dare make those darling dps read their spellbook or talents so just wipe them out too and give everyone one GSE button to press.
Nowhere did he say that should be the case though. We can have mechanics that is mainly the DPS that are capable of dealing with, but the rest of the group can help.
Similar to how it’s mainly the tank that can handle tank busters, but the rest of the group can use externals. Or how it’s mainly up to the healer to pass the heal check during heavy aoe phases, but the rest of the group can help by using personal defensives.
Everyone has a role to play, but grouped content should allow the whole group to chip in and help overcoming the challenges.
I feel like overall most people play DPS over tanking so literally less supply. That being said I have only played this game as DPS until this last season I have dabbled in tank. I find it enjoyable and the queue times are great! Also 2 specs keeps things more interesting longer.
Because we’re always in the wrong, even if we’ve done literally nothing.
If it’s not that, people won’t take you for M+ or Raids if you’re not extremely overgeared.
This last week alone, and a couple weeks before the count went down as a whole;
Highest key my 625 Prot War, 620 DH, and 620 DK could get into was a +2. Everything else was a into decline (and these are just the tanks)
Tanks are treated like 2nd class citizens in WoW AT BEST. Makes you not wanna play.
Because this game has turned into do everything as fast as you can and spam M+ dungeons so you can outgear all the raids before you even get into them. If you are just plotting your path as a tank and the pull then you are too slow and the dps starts pulling and then you wipe and everyone blames you if they haven’t kicked you already.
The gear you get is tank gear and tanks are useless in pvp and if you want to go do some quests or something you have to either go in your tank gear or your offset gear which is terrible.
The tank is the leader and pretty much has to do all the work while everyone just sits back on chill mode.
You can’t even start a new dungeon as a tank because the rest of the group wants to just steam roll it so you que as dps to get to know the dungeon so after a few times of that you don’t feel like doing that dungeon anymore.
Dungeons as a whole are in a weird state in between old WoW and Diablo, and they’ve been like that since WOTLK. Everyone’s classes feel like they’re designed for raid bosses, but all everyone wants to do is zerg and AOE, like they’re playing Diablo. What am I even doing in a dungeon as a tank? Nobody respects the tank. They just go around pulling whatever they want, expecting you to pull it off them. Nobody interrupts. Nobody follows you around the corner to LOS a group. It sucks. Why would I tank for a bunch of children when I just hang out with my good buddy Brann Bronzebeard?
