What is the actual reason? Queues can take a loooooooong time and it’s always waiting for a tank.
Is it too hard to tank? People scream at you too much? Not worth the stress?

Tanking is super easy
It’s the everything else you also have to do that no one wants
I used to love tanking but yeah it’s just not worth it. If you don’t know the dungeon 100% of every pack and pull immediately into a new expansion people will chew your head off.
Not worth the stress for me. Everyone has an opinion and don’t mind reaming the tank.
I will admit, yesterday I did a five man delve and everyone was happy and said they had a good time. I was so happy. Felt like I did my job well.
?? I’ve been getting goody bags on my DPS characters all week showing that there’s a surplus of tanks
Tinker class with tank spec pls.
for the same reason there are so many post about the same topic. For me the #1 reason I stopped tanking KEYS / Random PuG’s, is most of the DPS know how to tell the tank to play his toon while they can’t even out dps the tank. The want to pull 3 more packs because they know more about the tanks ability than the tank does. They want to speed run and then cry when they die because they pulled a pack and the tank didn’t aggro ON PURPOSE to let them die. In general the current DPS that utilize the lower key system is the “Carry Me” player that can’t figure out what cute winter boots to wear.
Because playing one seems miserable. You’re at the mercy of four other people who depend on you to not get them punched in the face. One mistake, and it doesn’t even have to be your mistake, people start dying and the first ones in the firing line are tanks and healers.
It’s also not even expected but required for you to pull at a rapid pace, regardless of what level of content you’re running. It’s a lot of stress for ultimately not much reward. Not even often worth playing one in PvP because people just don’t focus you and you don’t usually do enough damage to down anyone in a timely manner.
Disruptive, sure, but you can do that as DPS and actually down things.
Yes, actually.
Not me specifically, but the playerbase in general.
Eh it wore down on me personally. It’s not all other players frustration but the design of tanking and healing atm too.
Everyone and their mother knows exactly what’s ‘‘best’’ for a tank to do, but none of them actually ever bother tanking. It gets to a point.
I’ve thought about switching back to Prot from Fury but it’s really just not worth it anymore.
I tank 90% of the time and I think people would just rather DPS because you have to pay less attention.
People get stressed knowing tanks are essentially leading the party.
I honestly feel like it’s less of what everybody is saying here, and more abbout the fact that guilds only need 2 tanks, 3 healers, and 20 dps for 25 man raids. So if you’re in a raid guild, unless you’re in one of the 2 main tank slots, there is no reason for you to roll a tank.
I love tanking, but my guild has their 2 raid tanks, so I dps.
When I tank: DPS fail
When I DPS: Tanks fail
When I Heal: …well…that ones on me
Give all the tanks OG Illuminated Sigils level of control. You could dumpster the dps tanks have entirely and it wouldn’t matter because the allure of the role is control.
It’s really true about dps being so chill. I can pet my cat, snack on something… just looking away for a second without messing up everything for others feels nice. At least in lower mythics this is true, like 7s.
You gotta take a number if you want to tank in most guilds.
Seems like there are plenty of people that’ll tank, as long as it isn’t a pug.
Tanking and healing are always underplayed in any mmo or hero shooter aka anything with roles. And for the soul reason of DPS tends to be super flashy, its allot more chiller as dps your primary job is damage. You should be Ccing defensivinf and interruptijg but reality is most dont.
Tanks have to: know routes, oay attention to fos Cds and pull accordingly, CC, damage, interrupt, know the routes, and manage any tabk busters
Healers: Cc interupt, damage, heal, do all the mechanics if able so dps and do more dps and survive themselves
So overall tanks and healers have allot more responsabilities and arent as flashy
I’m not trying to throw healers under the bus, but I conducted an experiment. I completed an entire LFR group without healing anyone. No one noticed or said anything. lol
Doesnt mean you dont need healing or healers. Just means you put more stress on the other healers. Aka you a toxic meanie you forun troll
